♕ SAVAN AMARANDA DARAY i hide in the shadows, i long for the light; for i am a vampire, imprisoned by night. the moon is my sun, the night is my day, for blood is my life, and you are my prey
Savan, early on, had realized that with the movement and sounds of their little interactions, the best thing to do was move. And that was what he did after he partook on her blood. Now, heading back further into the forest had pushed a little at his limits on what he would be willing to do with her- since she was the first person whom he was willing to keep around in a long while- in fact- since her. Her, yes, the one who never returned despite what he asked for. The one person he had been willing to show a side that no one else saw. Of course, that was hundreds of years ago- she was gone now, a vampire that had been killed by none other then himself. That side was sealed away- kept in the back of his head to collect dusts and spider webs- and yet here he was, not the same person, but it was close.
Too close for his liking, he realized as he moved a little faster, a little swifter, jumping over the branches and uproots with ease as he remained silent, his lips pressed together in a pensive manner. He was willing to let her go again- and that was something he wasn't proud of- and adding on to that, he went back to get that damned cloak despite what he really wanted to do, putting himself and his desires to the side for a young elf who was nothing but trouble with an odd habit of chasing death. Unlike her, he didn't seem to have any real reason for doing the things he did- it was just because she was different- and he liked different- though no matter how different they are- he had never put them before himself. Curious, that is.
He could feel the cool air as he approached the fringes of the woods. He sneered, despite the fact that she couldn't see him. His eyes leveled ahead as she walked. 'Yes, yes it is, you elves have family, a home, friends- I'm sure you can stay with someone, but you don't belong in the dark, elf,' he muttered lowly to her, tipping his head to the side so she could hear him. 'This isn't where you and your God wants to be- not where I am, not in Vala, not in the Land of Darkness; Death of many forms lurk here, and I want you for myself. Lest you can give me a good reason why you should stay'.' he murmured, turning his head to whisper the last part against her head as she nuzzled against him. He pulled away and stopped suddenly before jumping on a branch above and crouching for a moment as he listened, straining to hear any signs of life- hooves, footsteps, heartbeats, maybe even screams. Hearing none, he dropped back to the ground with ease before stepping into the moonlight, the expression that was seemingly plastered to his face was unreadable.
He had just told her where he went. Vala. A peculiar pair of sorcerers lived there. They had once requested Savan for help for something- with nothing to do and an intention of not keeping it that way, he agreed. There was, as always a price to be paid, and with not enough coins to keep the older vampire satisfied- they remained in his debt. Concealing the elf would level the fields simply because it was easy and they would be in no real threat. He only wanted the elf to be watched because he didn't need word coming out there was an elf in the Land of Darkness- well, on the side of town that rested on the grounds anyway. And he was a vampire, and old one at that, there had never been a time he wanted to be seen carrying a elf on his back- if he could do anything about it, he wanted no one to know who bit her and kept her alive. She was his.
Looking ahead as he kept to the shadows, his eyes lowered with a grimace- Vala was located in the middle of the two feuding lands, the sun would be somewhat visible, he was going to have to stay with the twins until night fall, if not for the chance of sunlight, then the want that they keep up with their end of the bargain.

All she knew was that it was a sort of middle ground between the two waring sisters. And that she had simply overheard when she last made the trek home and overheard some farmers and soldiers talking. Vala and the country around the Black Forest weren't something that came up a lot in conversation in Aherdaur, and with the plans she had been making, she hadn't wanted to ask anyone and arouse suspicion of where she wanted to go, or leave a clue as to where it was she was going.
She knew there would be danger there, everywhere in these dark lands held danger for one such as she. Not so much because she was an elf as because she was a young, defenseless woman. She had no protector, other than the vampire that claimed her, but even he made no promises to protect her. He told her flat out that he wouldn't, that she'd need to be careful because he wouldn't be there.
She refused to think on that overly much. Whether she lived or died hardly mattered much anymore, and whatever he said, she felt more comfortable with the lie she preferred to believe. He was her death, and even if he didn't want to keep it that way, there was a god that would. It was ridiculous to believe it, but she did. It gave her comfort as she was in these strange lands, thinking that the gods had revealed to her her death as a promise, that they would keep that promise.
Meanwhile, she had to think of what to say. Should she take his offer and leave? Perhaps head to the Imperial City to see if she could find her sister? Lailah didn't know where she was, she hadn't even replied to the letter that told her she was gone. But she couldn't tell her where she was going, if she had, she might have come after her, which was something Liluth couldn't have. Her sister belonged in happier places, safer places than this. If not telling her where it was she went to meet her death kept her safe, Liluth would do it.
If she left, she'd have to tell someone she went back, she'd have to admit it, and to risk never coming back. For some reason that thought didn't rest well with her. Yes, she was scared out of her mind, but here, she had a place she belonged. She was his, he told her so, so why did he insist she leave? She had nothing to go back to, nothing that she hadn't already let go. Going back would just cause her more pain, pain she didn't want to feel again.
βI don't want to go back.β she whispered, βIs that a good enough reason? I never planned on going back, never planned on not dieing. Nothing to go back to. I've said what goodbyes I needed to, and saying them again... I'd rather you killed me now than keep me alive to send me back. Is there something about me coming to die that you missed? If it's because I'm an elf, just cut off the tips of my ears, no one would know then, right? My hair would hide the scars, and I could stay here. I more belong here than I do there anymore.β

♕ SAVAN AMARANDA DARAY i hide in the shadows, i long for the light; for i am a vampire, imprisoned by night. the moon is my sun, the night is my day, for blood is my life, and you are my prey
Savan was silent as she was thinking, he moved with an utmost urgency and quickness, his thoughts planning out the next few days and how it would work. The twins, he was sure, would care for her- she seemed like the type those two tend to get along with. He hoped that they would be willing to watch her carefully and keep her inside during the day- after all, being an elf was dangerous in the Land of Darkness, and often he can account for a few vampires how had their hunting grounds in Vala- the Queen of the Darkness herself, often sent someone along the small town to pluck a pretty little virgin to slaughter off. And he had to work too, as an assassin, it gave him something to do- and it was nothing that he could neglect since it gave him opportunities to steal little items for trade and bargain for. After that, however, he needed to return- for as twisted as the sisters were and as sure as he was they would watch the silly pointed eared immortal; had to check up on her anyways, sure that at one point or another they were going to run across a misunderstanding on what 'safe' was- and he couldn't be bothered to be descriptive and raise questions on why he was doing what he did- not that he needed a reason.
Tilting his head to the side, he sneered at her, but said nothing. How she took little things for granted. It's been year since he had any of those things, things that he would never get back, no choice but memories to live on. Even with it- sometimes he struggled to remember certain details of his life- after so many years of keeping it behind his current train of thought when he wanted to bring them forth, they always failed him. But she did what she wanted to, he could hardly care less about it- but once she starts missing him, she better not expect anything from him. Some things would never been realized until it was either too late or gone- he didn't want to do, nor he cared how she felt about it all. The choices she made were her own, no elf would tell her to go the Land of Darkness in hopes of and elder vampire killing her without mercy- and that was what hew as going to do soon. Only him- which was why he was a little protective about it. Vampires were dominate and territorial- and the marks on her neck revealed who she belonged to.
Pulling out of his thoughts absently he snorted, but said nothing. It was a reason, but not a good one. Of course he wouldn't kill her- it showed how young she was, that she wouldn't think before she acted- since when had any vampire listened to anyone? Since when had vampires like him did what was expected. Besides the fact that she was a strange little thing- he kept her alive the second time because she really, with all her heart, thought that she was going to die- and he relished the thought that he had disappointed her. However, his mind completely ran over the thought of tarnishing the trademarks that made her an elf- he wanted to know she was an elf, he wanted to see her ears and know she's not just any human that he had taken under his hold- humans were too fragile- they sickened him but most crawled around the forest- elves were rare. And he was lucky enough to keep her as his because he simply can, and she was willing. Granted, he would rather he be completely and utterly terrified of his presence, but one can't get everything, and she didn't fit the terrified hype if she was willing him to kill her.
What a disappointment.
'Just be careful around the sisters,' he grunted, ending the conversation there.
