[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] are you in are you out shake it up shake it down The Words: 353 The Outfit: dark blue and purple, jester-ish kinda The Notes STOKED! It was almost two hundred years since Tetigit Renee Contralta had left Bradore. It had been at the urging of his mother, raising children of pure blood, with a husband who looked upon Renee as if he were some freak of nature. His pointed ears and slender build always gave away the fact he was elf-born, though his features were harsh enough anyone looking could tell he was not pure elf, but tainted. Now, as he looked down a hill to the sea town his mother had taken him to when she met that farmer, he felt a pang of sorrow. She had died years before, and a letter had found him, forbidding him from coming to say his farewell. As long as someone in this town could recognize him, he had known he would not be welcome. But centuries had passed, now, and no one in such a small community would have liked to spread the family shame of a mother that had had an elf-child.
Slowly, he made his way down the hill, leading the horse that in human lands had pulled his traveling cart. Here, though, in the land of sorcerers, magic was not a rarity. “Come along, Snowblossom, a new town, time to see. Maybe even relatives, though they'd know not me.” The horse nuzzled him as she walked, bringing a smile to his face. “Yes, I know, not the worst thing in the world, but I won't be spending much time here. It's doubtful they want an illusionist here, they are fishers, workers, it is small enough a community, and all fishermen, there's no use for an entertainer, and no money for it.” He sighed, running his fingers over his slightly pointed ears and murmuring a simple spell. Anyone looking would see normal human ears, he was just a traveling sorcerer, visiting a well-known town. He was dressed fine enough for it, if a bit outlandishly. He was wearing the outfit he wore all throughout the human kingdoms, with deep colors of blue and purple and silver embellishments. He'd certainly stand out in the town below. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][bg=444444][atrb=background,http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/luxxray/efpattern1.png] Digging his heels into the flank of the beast, Sameal slowed Nyx to a stop, realizing just how hard it was to ride a horse without a saddle. Last week he had visited the elven kingdom, and watched with mild amusement as they rode the horses bareback- no saddle, and no props; just random tongue clicking and foreign words to keep the animals going. It seemed to easy when the elves had once done it, and yet when he tried, he couldn't seem to get a decent grip and keep himself steady. Maybe it was due to his lack of coordination and their lack of uncoordinated, or it could be that he just couldn't master everything he put his mind on, even if it was on the first try. But it was normal, wasn't it? Elves were very attached to nature, and though he had tried to be nice to nature sometimes, nature would sneer at him and cause him to trip over something that honestly shouldn't have been there in the first place. Whatever the reason was, it was unfair, and not five minutes into the journey, nor a few decent leagues in, he found himself making a stop near the cliff, using some simple spells to heal his wounds. He was almost sulking, sliding off the horse and nearly falling flat on his back. Dear Thea, if Freda (bless her old cooking soul) could see him now, she would have been laughing, smacking him on the back of his head and calling him rather surprisingly obscene words that he had never that she would have known, let alone use.
As he sat on the trunk of a tree, and fixing up his hair, he noticed the figure standing on the cliff before turning back to finish his job. Standing and dusting dirt off the fine woven tunic he wore, he snorted and turned back in the direction he had came from, knowing that he was going to have to waist his time and wander all the way back from which he had came. Which was a good thing he didn't decide to make the journey from the castle; had he done that, he wouldn't make it, he was sure of it. Perks of being the Pure Queen's favorite and living such a posh life, and yet helping the ever so charming queen Thea win this wicked war, he had somewhat of a known face around the smaller villages in the Land of the Light. Though, today, he wasn't one some sort of errand run, he was just looking for something to occupy his time with; and since he happened to like trying out new things, someone had suggested that he tried going somewhere that ended up with him in this current predicament.
Hearing a voice speak out, he glanced up to see that the figure among the edge of the cliff was gone, instead, said figure was coming his way.. Leaning forward, he bowed his head as he petted the animal's neck absently, feeding him a fruit that he had retrieved from the depths of his pack. His head was tilted to the side slightly, discreetly listening to what was being said, even if it wasn't being said to him, it was still being spoken out loud. His steel gray eyes peered over the mane as he watched the (slightly cute) male speak to the horse beside it. It was only at the sight did Sameal speak, once again, disregarding that it would be considered rude to not only be eavesdropping, but jumping into a conversation. Interesting company you keep, one such as yourself should be around more... special group then regular fishermen... I hear they are such a bore,' he commented, leaning forward and pressing his chin against the heel of his hand, his elbow pushed lightly against the horses neck.

Tetigit looked up with a start, though his horse didn't flinch as the other traveler drew nearer. He blinked once or twice, a light smirk coming to his face as he took in the meaning of what the much younger man had said. “A man is welcome everywhere but his home, they say, and all the more true it is for me.” he gave a slight bow as he quoted his version of the proverb. His mare tossed her head, rolling her eyes at him and receiving a playful glare from him as he stood, patting her neck. “Tetigit Renee Contralta a your service, good sir, a traveling magician of sorts. Though in this part of the world, it is not such a rarity. A pleasure to meet you.”
His smile was soft as he met the young man's eyes, looking him over with a slight thoughtful expression. He looked from the young man to the horse and back again, raising an eyebrow at the lack of a saddle. “Forgive me if it is out of place, but you seem as well to be outside your usual realm of travel. A humble fishing town such as this must consider it a rare honor to have someone with such obvious good standing as yourself stopping by. Such an experienced horseman must be a man of high standing.” Though he said it with sincerity, his eyes were twinkling with silent laughter. His own mare wore a saddle, though it looked little used. He preferred to walk her, taking days to travel as far as others did in a few hours, but he knew he could afford to take his time. He could see the world in detail that way, taking everything in, rather than rushing by it in a blur.
He lived in the world of those in a hurry, rushing through their lives as a necessity, living for but a moment before they passed on. He had seen many go through the cycle, and seen just how they changed the world. A tree planted a hundred years ago as a sapling that became the center of a bustling town, a path traveled at first by a single farmer than eventually was paved, becoming a main road. So many ways that one seemingly insignificant person, living perhaps a hundred years, could change the world. He himself, though, he tried his best not to change anything. He knew he wasn't exactly a part of the world he traveled in, set apart from birth as strange, different. Though he had come to terms with that, he still hadn't found a way to fully immerse himself in the world he was a part of. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][bg=444444][atrb=background,http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/luxxray/efpattern1.png] Sam chuckled at the rather formal tone that was being used. Naturally, it was normal for someone like him to be treated with respect, and looked up upon- he was seen to be at the Light Queen's heels on some days... however, outside of the casual and meetings, he would have rather to be treated like a civil person, someone who wasn't above others or below them. Someone who has had their fair share of hard work too, and should be spoken to accordingly. But still, he was merely a young adult, he loved it when people bowed down, and his pride inflated every time people called him by a posh title. Formality is a little double sided sometimes.
Leaning forward, he dropped his arm and rested his chin on the horse's neck, the animal snort and tossing his head suddenly, clipping the sorcerer in the chin. With a short intake of break, he huffed, muttering some words that could have put Freda and her mouth to shame. Goddess, he knew Nyx was short tempered, but she was the only one who was available- and this morning, the boy was sure he could master riding bareback before the day was over (that was this morning, he was having second thoughts now). Smacking the beast lightly on his neck, Sam scowled before turning his attention back to the man before him as he tried to turn the beast until he was facing the road so they could head back, all the while cursing Thatulo for favoring nymphs and elves rather then him. 'Traveling magician, are we? Welcome everywhere but his home? Outrageous,' he scoffed. 'Why ever would someone special like you be unwelcome?' he licked his lips casually. 'I'll tell you, Sir Tetigit Renee Contralta,' he started, with a small awkward bow of his own. 'You're always welcome to my home- Sameal Ash's,' he added with a sly grin across his features. 'You know, just stop by.. unannounced for a little... show, you know?'
However, his grin dropped at the meantion of the horse and the lack of a saddle on it's back. He snorted and rolled his eyes as the horse trampled about. 'Her? Goddess, I find riding a boar to be easier then traveling with her- with or without a saddle,' he muttered on his breath, huffing and indignation as the animal turned his head and stared at the boy in a rather unerving way. He glared right back with a defiant eye. 'If high standing was determined by one's experiences with traveling as a horse, I might as well quit my job and become a begger... or at least with her,' he added with a snort, pulling out a carrot discreetly to feed her anyways. When all else fails, resort to bribery.

Tetigit allowed himself a moment to be entertained by the younger sorcerer's horse' antics. She seemed a fitting match for the young man, just as brash as he. Much like his own Snowblossom was mostly docile, like him. But she snorted at the other horse, nipping at an ear in what he could only see as a reprimand for being so hard on the human who had brought her here.
With a snap of his fingers, Tetigit answered the first question the young man asked him, letting the freshly placed illusion fall away, revealing his elven ears, the most visible sign of his mixed blood. He simply shook his head at the use of the title, “I am no one of great consequence, not like yourself. No Queen has put me into her favor, though then again, I have yet to meet a queen.” He rose an eyebrow as the suggestion of stopping by for a 'show', thinking of the type of show the young man was probably referring to. He didn't let himself answer, not yet, but he put the name into memory.
“Perhaps she feels the same.” He let himself smirk a little, watching and listening as the boy badmouthed his horse, yet at the end was kind to the beast he spoke of with such irritation. He walked around his horse, coming into full view for the first time. “I am sorry if my words were rude, Sir Ash, or Ash, if you'd let me know which you prefer. Myself, I find my name too long, yet I do not know which part to keep. High standing is rarely measured in how well one rides, or else all would be beggars but the elves, and how unlucky that would be for the rest of us.” His smirk became a smile as he spoke, eyes trailing from soft lips, to eyes so full of life and power and personality. Young this man was, but there was the fire in him of someone who could change the world. He was lifting Tetigit's mood, without even trying, it seemed, for the line he had used didn't seem forced, but rather almost habit. And habit or not, it took Tetigit to a much happier place than the thoughts of who might be down in that village, people who he should have known, but didn't, who most likely hadn't even heard stories about their great-whatever uncle. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][bg=444444][atrb=background,http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/luxxray/efpattern1.png] Sam didn't know if he should smack the horse of making me look like a fool, or himself for allowing the thing to make him look like a fool. Goddess, of all the days that fate should toy with him, it had to be today; the day that he rode bareback for a league or two, without any real provisions and now feel a little more then lazy to return all the way.. back there. He shuddered at the thought of how long he was going to be sprawled on top of the horses back. At this ungodly hour of the afternoon? The sun will melt him like a the beautiful servant back at the castle- the one that always smiled at him when she passed, making him weak at the knees and a little lost (running into walls after the encounter didn't count, it shouldn't, he was dazed). But still she-
Blinking suddenly and shaking his head, he turned his scatterbrained attention back to the lovely presence that had graced his life. His eyes immediately trailed over the man's ears and realization stumbled on to him (more like tackled- causing him to fall back wards over his words). 'Yo-! Uh... ' he stopped and blinked, of course, he really didn't have to say that out loud, did he? Pointing out the obvious is such a horrible quality, and suddenly he hoped that Tetigit didn't take offense to it, for Sam had never cared what species anyone were- they should be judged on character, and nothing else.
Gathering the last of his wits, he grinned suddenly. 'No one of importance?' he translated, snorting with a roll of his eyes. 'Important enough for me, cause you know... you're so good looking I wish I could plant and grow a whole field of you!' he uttered, suggestively arching a brow with an equally suggestive smirk on his lips.
He laughed at the other man before shrugging casually. 'Thank goddess for that- I may not excel like a elf when it comes to riding- but I sure as hell can excel in other things,' he said cheerfully with a dip of his head. Waving off the name a few seconds too late, he muttered an absent 'I prefer Ash, but you can screa- I mean call me whatever you want,' he gave the man the most casual wink he could muster before pushing the horse's muzzle away from the back, immediately going back to uttering obscene words at him.

The fact the young man composed himself so quickly did impress the half-elf. Even if that composition came in the form of a very obvious pick up line. At least that meant he hadn't misinterpreted what the young sir Ash had meant about a 'private show'. It had been so long since his last afair, Tetigit really didn't know how to respond, until the handsome young man fed him another delicious line with an equally delicious look on his face.
“Ash,” he whispered, taking a step forward and gently running a few long, delicate fingers over the young man's cheek, “I do hope you'd let me return the favor if I let you make me scream.” he smirked, eyes dark with vivid thoughts of what the young boy was so casually suggesting. A sign of youth, being able to spout offers to strangers, and berate your horse with bad language in the same breath. Slowly he leaned in, lips centimeters away from Ash's, “My skills come not from being half elf, that only helps with my flexibility. I excel because I've had years to perfect technique. Perhaps I could show you.”
After saying that, he let their lips brush for a moment before he pulled back, barely acknowledging Snowblossom as she nudged his shoulder and kicked a little at the ground, showing her impatience with his uncouth actions when there was a cozy stable waiting for her ahead in the town. Idly, he patted her nose, giving the young man and his horse a once over again. “If you'd like, you could ride Snowblossom into town, I prefer walking, at any rate.” he gave him a smile, indicating the saddled horse who was standing obediently, as if proving how much better of a horse she was than the wild thing Ash had tried to ride. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][bg=444444][atrb=background,http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/luxxray/efpattern1.png] Sam grinned, the corners of his lips twitched up into that cocky smirk. Of course Tetigit would like him, if he tried, he figured everyone would like him. Honestly, there was no one that he had come across that told him otherwise. Everyone wanted him, even if they wouldn't admit it (or so he thought, that servant at the castle who poured her drink over his head said otherwise). But not counting that, everyone loved him. Thea does, Dora does, isn't that lovely? Being in favor of the the true Queen and the other one?
Watching the latter step closer, the younger sorcerer leaned into the other man's touch. He laughed as they draw closer, the movement automatic, without a thought to it. It was almost natural, as if they knew what was to come next. And hey, if anything- he was sure that he wasn't going to complain about it. 'Is that so? All that time, you must be old- get to bed you fossil,' he teased, reaching behind the other man's neck and boldly wrapping his fingers in a fistful of his hair and pulling the half-elf closer, deepening the kiss before deftly pulling away. It seemed there was a comforting weight missing as they parted and for a moment, he whined, his fingers still handling the man's hair. 'Your lips still look lonely- do you want them to meet mine again?' he asked with a cheeky wink, dropping his hand by his side.
Turning to Nyx, he scoffed, his pride suddenly inflating, his feelings bordering offense as he shook his head. 'I'll ride her- besides, one way or another, she might as well get used to me, I'll be sticking around all day,' he sneered at the horse mockingly. 'Give me a few hours and I'll master riding her-' he declared, not taking help from the latter, despite the fact that just giving in would be easier. '.. if it's the last thing I do,' he muttered under his breath, shoving the horse away with a curse as he fed her another carrot. '..pig,' he scoffed at her before turning to Tetigit.

He should have expected the hand in his hair, the slight forcefulness and deepening of the kiss. This young man was a natural, Tetigit could tell that much. A natural, and a tease, and easily distracted. He sighed as the hand left his hair, licking his lips that did indeed feel lonely. This young man was such a tease and he was a willing toy, though he'd never say it aloud.
“Lips are always lonely, even though they come in a pair.” he replied, pushing the image of pulling the young sorcerer back for another, longer kiss out of his mind. Or at least he tried, but as he watched the young man boasting, he couldn't keep his eyes off those soft lips. They were much better when being kissed, he decided, as he listened to the youthful boasting, shaking his head a little in amusement. Ash could spend a month trying to break the horse and Tetigit was sure he still wouldn't succeed in it. She had a fighting spirit, and no one could make her docile without really breaking her, and he hoped the young man wasn't willing to do that. “It will be a sad day when a horse has no fighting spirit,” he murmured to himself, scratching his own mare behind the ears. She nipped at his hand with a snort causing him to sigh. “Someone else is getting a snack so now you're hungry too, that's always the way” he fished an apple from a saddle bag, watching as she munched the sweet treat. “You're all pigs at heart, or maybe just men, the way to your heart is through your stomach.”
He looked back to the younger man, a smile on his lips as he glanced up at the sky as if checking the time. He really didn't need to check, since he knew what time it was already, but it let him avoid looking at those lips for a little longer. Begging didn't become a man of over 200 years of age. “It's a beautiful day, you know. A good day for a picnic and solitude in a salty breeze, away from the smell of fish and fishermen. But it's not something I would like to do alone, having someone to share a meal with is always more enjoyable than staying alone.” He let his eyes wander back to meet Ash's, licking his lips lightly as he waited for a response. Not for the first time he berated himself for not being forward with his statements. When dealing with someone as young as this, he ought to do away with his formalities, but habits were hard to break once they were made. |

Aren't we?' he looked down at himself and smoothed out his clothes casually, as if he ad admiring himself (all he really needed was a reflection. 'I mean, look at me,' he started, boasting jokingly at the other man with a grin. 'I can kiss heaven goodbye... because it's got to be a sin to look this good!' He reached forward, and out of habit, fixed his hair- the shaved side bare, spiking up the top part of his head to keep the thing from flopping to the side (obviously he wasn't using enough oil, or the sun was starting to melt it to the side). He nodded sagely at him, as if he was confessing something serious.
Sam scoffed at the other man before adopting a look of confusion as he leaned over to look at the man, mockingly curious and mild confusion etched on his face. As if he had no idea what he was talking about. Again, it was that formality that always bothered him, he didn't like it because he had to do with at the court, and he would rather people be open. However, at the age that the half-elf could be, formality was expected- always bound to silly little traditions and beliefs that never seem to go away. But if Sam could help it, the latter would have to break that habit- or at least try to, after all, he had no matter of subtly at all.. therefore wouldn't be able to pick up such a line. A date? What date? The word date never left the man's lips!
Blinking, he arched a brow. 'Well, good for you! I could use something to eat- there must be a tavern nearby or something,' he agreed casually. Finally turning to the man, as if catching the last part of what the half-elf said, he playfully clasp him on the shoulder with a slim arm. 'Ah, well, I hope you find company-' he nodded. 'I hear good company at the pub in the next village over... they can give you everything you could ever want.. ' he paused before snorting. '.. well.. for a low price anyways,' he mocked.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: dddddd; border: #cccccc solid 8px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;] are you in are you out shake it up shake it down The Words: 555 The Outfit: dark blue and purple, jester-ish kinda The Notes STOKED! It wasn't often in his two-hundred plus years that Tetigit was struck speechless, and even then this topped the cake. He really didn't know what to do, the way this boy[/y], for that was what he really was, nothing more than a boy, was playing him perfectly, knowing just which strings to pull. He knew, he knew Ash understood what he proposed. The way he picked and chose which bits to understand, and just blatantly annoyed others... Tetigit was finding his feathers ruffled most expertly, and he wasn't sure if he liked it or not.
That was perhaps the worst thing about all this. He could tell the young man, boy, whatever he should call him, was playing him, and it was getting him frustrated and angry, but it didn't stop with that. No, all the words aimed to frustrate him also aimed to tease, and they were hitting their mark. He was being issued a challenge of sorts, and what he said now would decide whether he got to play for a little while longer, or if he was sent packing. He rolled his eyes, the youth was unbelievable. Unbelievable and oh so tempting. With a sigh, he turned to really look at him, taking in the confident air and commoner clothing. No matter how he was dressed, this young man was used to being involved in court and high society. Equally as obvious was how dull he found being polite, and formal language.
Where Tetigit had fallen in love with the delicate intricacies, it seemed Ash was resentful of them. Which meant, if Tetigit wanted any enjoyment of his time with the man, he was going to have to purposefully forgo his manners and bring his words down to the young man's level. It would be painful, but he'd have to do it, or ride in and try to find company in the pub, which he most certainly wanted to stay far away from. Cheap companionship was just that, cheap. He didn't want a cheap companion, he wanted an interesting one. Such as the young man standing with his arm around him.
“No. No one in that town would be cheap enough to make it worth it. I'm not into paying for my own torture. I was rather hoping you could stay here and enjoy the afternoon with me.” The bluntness of what he said nearly made him wince, but it wouldn't hurt as much as what he was planning on saying next. “W-would you like to have a small meal with me?” It took all his two-hundred years of experience on stages to keep a smile on his face instead of a grimace, and if the young sorcerer turned him down now, he wasn't sure what he would do. Well, the easiest way around that would be to keep the young sorcerer occupied for a little, so he couldn't answer right away. And the quickest way Tetigit could think to do that at the moment was a repeat of a little of their earlier action. He turned, standing nearly face to face with the young sorcerer and kissed him. This time it was almost forceful of him, hands resting on either side of the pale face as he let a bit of his frustration out with this relatively safe outlet. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][bg=444444][atrb=background,http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/luxxray/efpattern1.png] Bad Sam. Bad Sam to say such thing to someone older then him. But he couldn't help it, nor himself, nor the feeling of utter and complete satisifaction as he watched the man in his speechless stare, staring at the young sorcerer as if he was someone else entirely and just pulled a head out of his bag. He gave the man a grim nod, as if he was dead serious, knowing just how much of an irk he was currently being, but couldn't be bothered to change. That's Sam for you, never changing for anyone, if they didn't like him, they can leave. He was honest, sometimes he said things that no one else dare say, and it's perfectly fine in his eyes, his words didn't have to be heeded, just noticed, they just had to be said. And he said it- he liked bluntness, he didn't enjoy formality... if one couldn't tell. This was a new generation, and change was coming, it was coming soon. Ideals that was once held with uptmost importance was crashing down, and one had to believe in change, or fall with tradition. Even so, he grew up as a farm boy, though sometimes the posh living of the palace was nice, he missed getting down and dirty. He missed a lot of things, but he had to give them up, just like many others in their own lives and choices.
He nodded sagly, mockingly as he dipped his head. 'I must say, cheap company is quite a bore,' he drawled. 'Though, for the right amount of price, you can have the full lover experience, though the company may be enjoyable, you'd be paying for their dinner too,' he shrugged. 'Then buy out a room for the night, a few coins for the boy caring for your horse,' he let out a dramatic sigh and shrugged. 'Oh deary, such hard work, a lover is, no?' he trailed off with a quirk of hia brow. Yes, having someone there to love is care for may be hard, but if they truly loved each other, it would always work out, wouldn't it? It was something Sam had wondered every once in a while if it was true, the thought was horrifying, an emotion that had the power to put people through hell: he'd seen people fall in love, then fall out never the same, he had seen people give into death due to love, he had seen so many things happen- good and bad, if they knew what could be coming, why would they risk it anyways? He'd never know, would he? Not with the casual company he kept.
With a sudden grin, he dipped his head. 'Of course I'll keep you company! All you had to do was ask,' he said cheerfully, obviously ignoring the fact that he did ask, though not very subtly, but still. Leaning into the kill eageraly, he returned the force, his tongue sliding across the man's lower lip demandingly, letting out a light grunt.
