Practise always made perfect and when you don’t have any royal blood in you, you practiced even more. Evocation magic, one Clairetta seemed to have a natural talent in was one that needed the most work. It often played on her moods so she was here at the cliffs along the sea of Trasa to practice. There were a few elements here in which she could practice, the truth was she was a little too scared to try fire, fire was a dangerous element, it could consume if not treated properly so before she would tackle that, the others were fair game to master. The blond closed her eyes feeling that connection her magic had with the world around her, feeling how it seemed to breath on its own, she began to match that breathing, the waves moving in and out, the gentle breeze the shifting of the earth under her. She opened her eyes they glowed a little and she began. First the water, make it rise up to her, just a small bit, don’t need a tidal wave to hit her. She focused her hands to gather as water from the sea below flowed up towards her. A small steam nothing to worry about. Between her hands she gathered a small portion of it and began to freeze it into a ice ball.
The blond frowned a little since it was not perfect but it was a start. He balanced the ball in her hands before changing it back into water and having it hit the ground she was standing up on. That was not part of the plan, she wanted to sent it back to the sea. A sigh came from her as she sat down on the grass moving her hand over it making some grass grow. She looked at the sun, she had finished her duties hours ago, leaving her with the afternoon free. She glanced over at her horse and stood walking over to get the lunch she packed. Claire had begged the cooks to make her something for her little trip and it worked. She petted the horse’s nose and grabbed the endless bag she had with her, she never left with out it, it was the best thing she ever found. She pulled out a bucket and a canteen. Poring the water into the bucket for the horse she grabbed her lunch from with in it and sat down beside the large animal and began to eat while it drank. It was turning into a lovely day.

NO LONGER THE LOSTNO LONGER THE SAME, AND I CAN SEE YOU STARTING TO BREAK. I'LL KEEP YOU ALIVE IF YOU SHOW ME THE WAY. FOREVER - AND EVER, THE SCARS WILL REMAIN. I'M FALLING APART. LEAVE ME HERE FOREVER IN THE DARK- - - - - give me a sign , And this was the land of the light. Here was where all things good and holy made their home and protected their citizens. Or it was something like that. There was undoubtedly some lie in those two sentences. After all, the mistress of the dark herself had come from this place, had she not? She had been spawned from the same parents as the woman who ruled these lands that he dared to walk upon now. Good and evil really weren’t all that different were they? In this case, they even started in the same place. It made him wonder who had decided what was good and what was bad?
That was too complicated, however. Too much digging around and snooping his nose into other peoples business was what all of that thinking would lead him to do. And, personally, he didn’t feel like poking his face into the business of two pissed off queens. He would go ahead and stay out of that for like ever.
Hailing from the city of Vala, it was not difficult to find yourself tiptoeing over to the other side of these two territories. Being from a place that pretty much sat on the line of dark and light kind of made it difficult not to wander around on both. So that was the main reason why he found himself bumming around the opposite end of the spectrum. His fingers were twitchy, eager to do something other than wait for someone to die so he could dig a hole in the ground for them (grave digger thing; not murder thing). Unfortunately the confinements of Vala did not offer him anything to do on this fine day. So maybe this place would offer some entertainment for the time being. He supposed he could have followed December about but that would have driven his baby cousin mad, he was sure. But he was also sure that she was not fully capable of taking care of herself.
The rush of the sea flooded his ears and calmed his entire being for a moment. The smells and sounds that came from the ocean always did have some kind of relaxing power over him. It was almost hypnotic at times. Especially at times of great distress. Nature had a way of doing that sometimes, he supposed. It was always good to get back in touch with the world that grew around you and to never forget that it was the thing that provided so much for you.
He followed the sound of the ocean, carefully maneuvering through a wooded area while allowing his hands to skim over the bark of trees and tips of dying berry bushes. Every now and then he could hear a little fruit fall to the ground with a light plop and then it would roll into the darkness.
It wasn’t long before he made it to a clearing at the cliffs. He did not continue venturing out toward the sea at first though. There was horse standing at wait and if there was one animal that he despised it was those dreadful things. He must have been one of the only men on the planet who did not travel by horse. Seeing the beast made him immediately frown and furrow his brow. The hazel eyes quickly darted forward to find a blond girl going through a bag. At first he merely rolled his eyes, slightly dismayed that someone had already taken this spot. He wasn’t exactly keen on getting any company after all. But then something caught his eye.
She had pulled a whole damn bucket out of that little bag of hers!
For a moment, Calix Cross stood behind the cover of a tree completely transfixed by this sorcery. His eyebrows had risen upward and his lips parted slightly. Had he never known of anything like magic then he surely would have stayed like that for quite some time pondering of all the tricks and things that she could be doing. But he wasn’t so blind to this world that he did not know of magic. After all, he had been trained in the art of illusion by his parents. He could make things appear different, but he couldn’t make them real. Such a bag was beyond his power of creation.
Now the man clasped his hands together before his chest, stepping out from his hiding and into the open (keeping a weary eye of the horse as he did so). “What a neat trick,” he half mumbled. “A never ending bag?”
As he approached the girl slowly he began to realize that she looked to be… just that. A girl. She didn’t look a day over sixteen. Young and blond with a pale complexion. She was a pretty little thing. Though that sort of thing really did not hold his interest long.

The blond girl just sat beside her horse picking at the food she had, she was hungry, but suddenly not anymore which left her to pick at what she did have and looked up at the horse. Clairetta tended to live in her own little room, but being a servant girl left her alone most of the time as she cleaned rooms in the castle or just cleaning in general. She did long to really make friends other then just talk to Pandora when she wasn’t busy. So when Calix made him self known it startled her more then it did the horse. She stood up quickly falling into old habits of fixing her clothing and turning to face who it was giving a little curtsy. But when she realised she didn’t know this man she blushed a little at her own actions. “uh..” She started when she realised he has been talking to her. “It is… kind of interesting, it can fit quite a bit in it but only weighs a few pounds, easy way of packing, with out having many things to drag with you.” Clairetta was really unsure of what she told him all of that, a simple yes would have been a good enough answer, but she was flustered.
The blond moved towards the horse and petted its nose, new people made her a new level of awkward and she smiled a little at Calix. “My name is Clairetta… but you can just call me Claire.” She smiled warmly at him. It was polite to introduce ones self to someone they just met, even given with how the world was at the moment she would not pass up being polite even if she was weary of him. Paranoia spread and she was affected by it as well, new people were not just thought of as nice, but she will keep these thought hidden behind a warm smile and friendly greeting. “What bring you out here?” Claire now asked picking up the empty bucket and grabbing the bag to put it in. “that is if you don’t mind me asking.”

NO LONGER THE LOSTNO LONGER THE SAME, AND I CAN SEE YOU STARTING TO BREAK. I'LL KEEP YOU ALIVE IF YOU SHOW ME THE WAY. FOREVER - AND EVER, THE SCARS WILL REMAIN. I'M FALLING APART. LEAVE ME HERE FOREVER IN THE DARK- - - - - give me a sign , Calix quirked up one of his brows as he watched the blond girl try and collect herself and seemingly make herself presentable for his company. He found it to be quite amusing and could not help but let a pleased smirk make itself known on his lips as he watched. He waited patiently for her to finish straightening out her attire and for her to get over the flush of her skin. Unfortunately for her, he didn’t feel the least bit compelled to tell her that there was no need for nervous formalities. It wasn’t like he ever got too much of that so he may as well take what he could get, right? Besides, it was entertaining him! Why not let it run as is?
An easy way of packing, she said? Uh, yes, that was very clearly obvious as she had just produced an entire bucket from it without breaking so much as a sweat. So he did believe every word that did come out of the young girl’s lips. He had no reasons to doubt her, after all. He did not see her steed packed with a whole bunch of things so he was pretty sure that there was a lot more in that bag than just a bucket and such. Darathach, she could probably fit an entire body in there if she needed too. That bag could definitely come in handy in a lot of situations… in his case at least. Getting bodies to practice on would sure as hell be a lot easier and probably less suspicious. Dragging a corpse through town usually was not something that was smiled upon (not that it was something that he did often unless it was strictly work related).
Clairetta? That was a rather strange name. There was no doubt that he would be referring to her as Claire during their encounter now. Saying Clairetta would make him feel as though he was speaking to someone who was much older than he. Clairetta just seemed to have that kind of sound to it didn’t it? Okay, okay, he would go ahead and stop teasing her name in the back of his head. His lack of response might freak her out a little bit anyways. It slipped his mind usually: people did not appreciate blank stares when they were speaking to you.
“Calix,” he finally said back to her. “And calling me Calix will work just fine,” he added with a lazy nod. He then let his eyes roam his surroundings after she asked him what had brought him to this place. Boredom was the answer to that. But he was not quite sure if he wanted to answer with boredom. That sounded scholarly, didn’t it? Boredom brought me to these lands! Yes, that was genius.
“Beautiful… day… for a walk,” he lied obviously, even cringing slightly as he looked around him again. Then he finally looked back at her, forcing on the friendliest grin he could muster for the moment. “And what brings you out here, little lady? Sound of the ocean tempt you?”

Even if Calix told her she did not need to fix her self she still would do it, it was programmed into her brain, early lessons taught to her by her mother, how she was to act in the presence of other people. Just because you were poor, because you worked every day hard for every penny you own does not mean you can not hold your self up, look decent and respectable. Formalities was the first thing that came to her mind and the first thing she acted on no matter who it was. She stood there now, the blush faded on her cheeks the bag clutched in her right hand as her left hand was over top the right, a soft friendly smile graced on her lips.
Nervous habits for the young sorceress came in the form of what she called word vomit. Claire was a smart girl lack the money her parents had, she still learned quite a bit both reading, writing, she could easily pass as second class even if she wasn’t. She also read a fair bit of history and other subjects in her free time which aided this. So when she made a fool of her self or just in general uncomfortable she would just blurt out what she knew about the current subject, or person. Just because she was smart did not mean she had the best social skills. She was awkward around new people, she was a servant girl, a maid, she spent most of her time around new people quite and respectful because they were never there to see her just there for the Queen. Claire tucked her long hair behind her ear, she wished she has tied it up. A small frown came to her face as she began to manipulate the wind, changing its direction around her so she did not have to continue to move her hair out of her face.
Clair was aware how odd her name was, why she liked Claire, only her mother and father called her by her full name. But she wondered what this man’s name was. She began to study him, he was attractive, a little on the lanky side with how tall he was. She noticed he was staring off into space, did he do this often? His eyes were green, a pretty green, it went well against the darker hair and paler skin. He did though, have this air of him that made her feel like she could not trust him, though that could be due to the fact he was a stranger.
Clair nodded when he gave her his name, Calix. “Nice to meet you Calix.” She was not sure what nicknames one can take from his name, other then Cal, but he wished for her to call him Calix so she would. She kept her hands where they were in the position over the bag and gave a little bow instead of a hand shake.
Calix was right, it was a lovely day, she looked around her self before focusing on him once more. “It is a lovely day.” She smiled back thinking over her answer before giving it. “This is a great place, the wind, the water, the earth under you, makes a wonderful place to practice, come here often.” She was giving away enough but not everything about why she was there. It was a comfortable place, quite, not to many people around to watch her. She practiced a lot, between that and working one would be surprised that she had any time at all to call free time for reading.
