faster than the setting sun we'll run away faster than the setting sun faster than the setting sun we'll run away Ellie couldn't say she was used to the view before her. Indeed, it was such a wondrous, strange site, a great mass of water stretching out before her. The soft crash of the waves upon the base of the cliffs, it was so musical, and the scent of the salty air, such a sweet perfume. Until recently, Ellie had only dreamed of this great expanse of water. Never did she imagine she would live somewhere that just a short ride of a horse, not even a weeks journey away, from this beautiful, powerful site. "Oh, the wonder's of nature, Thatulo. Your blessing is on this land!" Her face was alight with joy as she stood near the edge of one of the cliffs, one hand lightly gripping the branch of a tree to steady herself in the strong sea breeze. The salt-tainted wind was blowing her hair all around her face, but it didn't seem to phase her at all. Nothing ever did, those days she stood here at her vantage point. It was always to this spot she came when she came here. To her it was the perfect spot to watch the waves and the ships coming into the harbor, and most of all, it was beautiful just as the sun set. She had gotten here early today as it was her last day at seaside before going back to the palace and the white imperial city. It was her last chance to see the sunset and she didn't want to miss one minute of the gorgeous change of colors that would take place, the transformation of the sky and the waves from the lighter blue of daylight into the deep dark majestic blue of the night, spattered with the twinkling of stars. With a sigh she sat by the thin, windblown tree, facing out over the sea. "So beautiful, I think I will miss it." she murmured to herself. tags;; open wearing;; so purdycredit;; corza song;; faster than the setting sun by fyfe dangerfeild words;; 321 ooc;; >.< hate starting open threads, always post so short D:

She was, once again, on the way to see the Queen of Light- but being a elf, who had always found peace and solitude in nature, couldn't help but urge her horse astray from the path so she could cross the cliffs that provided a stunning view of the sea. Of course, making good time, she didn't need to take a break, but seeing that she would have arrived early with no one to keep her company she might as well just make a pit stop, it wasn't going to take away anytime. Well, as far as she knew- after all, she was very punctual, and often was highly anal about being perfect.
Pulling on the reigns, her sharp blue eyes caught a figure in the distance. Tall, slim, but young. She wrinkled her brow, her lips pulled into a curious frown, as if she didn't expect someone to be there at the moment that she would. Questions rattled its way into her head. Was she safe? Yes, she was in the land of light, but it doesn't mean that everyone should be trusted. Turncoats ran about, and the hesitation that creeped into her head was apparent by the way she pulled Strix to a stop and looked at the figure curiously. Her back was to the elf- but it wasn't until she turned and moved to sit down did she catch the unnaturally graceful movements that could only be marked as an elf or a half elf.
Her lips pulled into a smile. Ah- the face was familiar indeed. The daughter of the Queen of Elves, currently working in the court as a human-naturally, being worried for her daughters safely, Nina had been known to make stops at the court to see if the young elf was alright. So they were no strangers- but in a relationship? Nina wasn't sure if they were friends or not- they had never spoken more then a few words of grace to each other before parting once more.
Small talk was nothing- but as Nina's sky blue eyes glanced at the sky for a moment, she turned back to the figure. She had time, she might as well make the best of it.
Dismounting, she pulled her robes up as she stepped on the soft grass lightly, her lithe frame moving forward like she was simply gliding. Her strides were quick and confident, despite her fear of the reaction she may get- however insecure she was inside, she never allowed it to show, the uneasiness. As she stopped a little away from the other elf, she bowed at her as she spoke up. 'Miss, call me bold, but one with such beauty as yourself shouldn't be alone,' she murmured, loud enough for the other to hear, but soft so that other listening ears couldn't pick up what she was saying. Normally, Nina would never allow herself to call a Princess other then her title, but since she was working as a human in court, she couldn't outright say that out loud. She bit her lip, feeling more nervous then she should be.

faster than the setting sun we'll run away faster than the setting sun faster than the setting sun we'll run away Ellie had heard the sound of horses hoves beneath the sounds of the crashing waves, but it hadn't fazed her in the slightest, often there were riders on the cliffs, and never before had anyone questioned the young looking maiden who sat by the tree. But the sound of light -too light- footsteps sent her hand down to grip her bow, ready in case someone was going to attack her, but the lightness, the faintness, of those steps brought pause to her violent actions. Instead she merely turned her head to face the girl, a smile growing on her face as she recognized her. "Lady Nina! It is Nina, is it not? I knew those steps were far too light for any human." She stood, returning the bow the lady had given her. "I should say the same to you, what brings a beautiful elf maiden to this coast, and all alone? Perhaps you, too, came to enjoy the sight of the sea? I've heard there is only forests and the beautiful elf-city inside your lands, and no sea at all." Her smile never faded as she straightened again, slowly bringing the bow in front of her, her grip on it relaxed, yet ready. Though she was well practiced at being a human lady, there were a few elven habits Ellie had never gotten out of. The most noticable, and one she had had to explain many a time to confused ladies in court, was the fact her bow never left her side. Except for royal banquets, it was always within reach, even if she could only carry two or three arrows in the slim quiver she kept with her. It wasn't much, but it was her homage to her country and her people, and also served her well as protection. Though she was so far from her homeland, she still practiced often, honing her skills, keeping them up, knowing better than to let them fall into disuse. True, she was supposedly a human lady in court, but she was a princess amongst her own people and not forgetting that was far more important to her than being a perfect imitation of the other ladies at court. They all had their quirks and differences, and this was hers. It was strange how some days she felt almost human, for so long living with them, acting like them, speaking like them, it became such a habit to think like them. But seeing Nina, it was like a splash of refreshing water on her face, a breath of forest air, even in the face of the strong sea breeze. She stood straighter, prouder, she was a princess once more.
