Prior warning since I don't want someone bitching at me: Dominus is a massive dick and he won't change but if it helps at all there's not many women that can say their other half has waited over two hundred and fifty years for them. Again, to save confusion, I'm just going to refer to her as Scout. I don't think I've ever given her a name but if I have don't worry about it. Three things: the playby can't change, she has to be a human and she needs to be capable of dealing with whatever shit Dominus throws at her and, of course, be able to throw it back. He'll turn her because he loves her and he couldn't love a drip. Way back when the world was simple and Dominus wasn't ruled by the colour of the sky he, along with his brother, were human the only difference was Dominus wasn't as big of a reclusive asshat as he is now and the reason being was a girl from the same town. They were close or as close as two people could be and he spent a lot of his time with her. Childhood sweethearts Dom had every intention of proposing to her because, as far as he knew, they were soul mates. It's cheesy and cliche but love does funny things and "destiny" is something everyone at the time was brought up to believe in. Returning - shortly before the summer solstice - he along with Ezeal was attacked and bitten. Stumbling home the pair separated and Dominus found his way to her front door. Destiny is cruel and unkind and fate isn't always obvious. She wanted him to turn her and he, for his own reasons, didn't and subsequently left her to continue her life swearing that for as long as he lived he'd watch over her and her family. It's an oath he's lived by for centuries. She married, had children and again offered herself to him even as she lay dying; he never took it and death took her instead little did/does he know that she wrote accounts of their time together and their ill-fated love story has been passed down. Perminately stuck hating himself and completely heartbroken over the loss of her his oath to watch over them is as much of a pleasure as it is painful. On the one hand he's watched his childhood friend's family flourish over the years but he's also had to contend with his guilt and most importantly knowing that he could've had it all if he was human or, if he'd have turned her, still had her by his side. Time doesn't half drag by when you're miserable but he's filled it with killing, drinking and womanizing. Don't pity him. This leads us to present day and his obsession continues which I suppose is exactly what it is. He creeps in when Scout's asleep, he watches over her and then leaves before dawn. He's held her when she's cried in her sleep or suffered restless nights, brushed her hair back when she's been sick, and sung her back off to sleep when she's woken up during a storm. He's done a lot more for her than the others because - as he puts it - she's a doppelgänger. Scout is the mirror image of her ancestor and as sad as it is he feels as if it's really her and not Scout. A second chance but time has changed him and he's still as angry over it as the day she died. He doesn't understand how this one, out of all of them, looks exactly like her and he's pretty sure she's been sent from the Gods to torment him :c. Scout should be aware of the story though she'd probably be under the impression it's just a story and none of it is true and also semi aware of her nighttime stalker - if only it being a presence of sorts. He's got plans of introducing himself into her life but she's his biggest weakness and it terrifies him when he thinks of it backfiring on him so we'd have to talk it out first. And now i'm tired so yeah lazy minnie is lazy.</3 |
