( ANGEL OF MINE, I THANK YOU )
( YOU HAD GIVEN ME STRENGTH )

It was a wonderful day, a perfect day in Nina’s eyes to sit back and take her mind off a few things. Normally, she’s always doing something, especially lately, and so time alone was always encouraged at one point or another in her day- just a few moments alone to clear her mind before she went back to what she was doing. They could be simple things, such as taking a walk or just sitting outside and watching life pass her by. Naturally, being an elf, she was always surrounded by nature, but its enchanting beauty- it was something she would never want to leave. It was her home, after all. She couldn’t think of anywhere else to be, no place which could possibly put her at ease as the forest and the people who live around it. And yet, when she felt like she wanted to see something different, which did happen from time to time, she always had the option of leaving, to turning her sights somewhere else for a new scene, new environment. It was something she treasured- freedom to do what she wished. If she wanted to, she could always leave her home and just wander.
And yet, there was someone who couldn’t.
Sitting down on the edge, she pulled her knees to her chest and rested her chin lightly on her kneecaps. Her icy blue eyes scanned the expanse of the frozen water for signs of life. The lake had been frozen for as long as Nina could remember- and when she was younger she had often came out to the lake, keeping the creature below it company Poor mermaid, a mermaid who didn’t deserve her punishment- trapped forever under the surface. What was it like, she wondered, to have to suffer like so for so long? Tamat was a mean goddess, like a few others her tricks were nasty and cruel- but it was in her nature, wasn’t it? She couldn’t be anything but that. So was it right to blame her for this horrible act? It was something for her to think about when she sat by the edge and followed the Ravthana around with her eyes.
She pulled the light blanket around her shoulders, her horse Cadoc, behind her moved around the trees, lost in his own business. After concluding that the pretty mermaid won’t show herself today, Nina took a deep breath and closed her eyes before opening them and looking up at the clear skies before down at the unbreakable surface. When she was younger and often went out to the lake, there were never anyone around- she wasn’t sure if people still visited her anymore though. Maybe she was just nothing more than a cursed person, someone not to be bothered nor messed with. She was old news, wasn’t she? Perhaps she’s forgotten, like a book that was shoved up on a shelf much too high reach. Like many things, people may turn her attention on her for a while before they returned back to their own business. Was it still like that now? Did no one visit her? It must be an awfully lonely and quiet life for her, while Nina enjoyed the silence, centuries of it would be a little maddening for her. She couldn’t possibly imagine what Ravthana must feel.
She hummed lightly after a moment, her eyes once more searching for the blue-haired mermaid. ‘A thousand years gone by, too late to wonder why I’m here alone,’ she sang quietly, wondering if she could hear her and come out.
