The life of a traveling merchant was a hard one at times lease during the warm seasons it meant you could save your money and sleep out side. Only thing you had to worry about was the creatures that lurked in the night and when you were a fairy many thing would like to eat you if the mood was right. The blue winged fairy had been lucky thus far, he worried about the day that his luck ran dry. Maybe there was some got up there keeping their eye on him, he wasn’t sure which one but he was glad of this.
Not only was it summer but the summer solstice was coming, a day the fairy held dear in his heart. Teasel was in Ferdis in the land of Kragspeak, a human town and he wasn’t too sure how these people would celebrate the solstice, he wasn’t sure his own way of celebrating would be appreciated. The enchanted forest seemed like the best place to be for the summer solstice, he was sure the fairy kingdom would be very lively with celebrations. That was going to be the small fairy’s destination, that and he felt more safe with in the forest now with his Dryad’s flute he finally mastered working after so many years.
On his map he began to trace the way he was going to go making sure it was easy on his pony. He glanced over to where he let the pony graze for the time being then at the people walking by. It was a slow warm day, but it suit him fine for now. Even hot days he didn’t much care for working. Brown almost black eyes scanned the area as he stood up folding the map once more and putting it into his cart. There was an apple stand not far from where he was. He was sure his pony would love a treat. He began to pack his things up calling it a day. Once things were secure he brought the pony over and hooked the cart to the harness the small sturdy animal wore. A smile came to his face as he rubbed the pony’s nose before walking over to the apple stand. Steeling one fruit was easy, you simply distracted the merchant and slipped it into your pocket. Teasel did this by looking them over and setting them back, he was friendly and talked to the man who was selling them and the minute his eyes strayed he popped it into his pocket. He said his good byes, said he should come back later and get some and simply walked back to his cart and pony.
It wasn’t until he was out of town that he pulled the apple from his pocket and held it out to the animal who gave a happy neigh and proceeded to eat the fruit. Teasel walked beside his pony a hand on his reins digging for his map once more then looking to the sky. He turned down his path and continued his way to the enchanted forest.
As the day went on and the sun began to set Teasel was sitting on the cart eyes looking out for a decent place to stay. The map said it was the lost province, stories he heard was that of goblins. Goblins nasty little creatures, Teasel hadn’t seen one yet, might mean he was on the edges of their territory. The Fairy stopped the horse at a little stream of water where a few trees grew. Getting off the cart and walking the animal over for some water he looked around once more. He wasn’t sure if this was the best place to stop over night.

Normally, Dion Zara Cover was seen in one of two places. Either he was hunting vampires and other vile creatures in the Black Forest, or he was relaxing and having a good time in Garamund and the Eastern Forest with the other werewolves. But it was getting close to time for the midsummer celebration. The idea of all the wonderful partying he would shortly be doing sent adrenaline rushing into his system, but he didn't want to travel all the way to the Black Forest to get the hunt and kill urges out of his system.
That brought him to the Lost Province. The overgrown ruins of the huge city that once stood there was an excellent place to get the spare rush out of his system. Goblins, they were easy compared to the prey he usually hunted, but he could feel good about the fact that travelers often camped out here, and if he took out a band of goblins, that was one less band to go attack people less able to protect themselves.
He stretched out in the sun's setting rays, yawning as he woke up. The goblins liked to go after travelers while they were distracted by things like setting up camp and sleep, so he had to sleep during the day so he could be bright minded for the hunt. That served him very well, since most of his hunting was done at night, it was hard to find vampires in the middle of the day. He pulled on his clothing, frowning a little at the tears in the rough fabric, but shrugging it off. He was here for the hunt, his clothing was only an afterthought so he could actually talk to whoever he found camping out here. He didn't fancy pulling arrows out of his back from friendly fire, so he was going out not in his wolf form. He couldn't blame the people for being afraid of a giant wolf in the night, but that didn't mean it didn't irritate him to have to wear clothes while hunting.
With a disgruntled sigh, he turned his nose to the wind, senses keen even in his “normal” form. It was time to find someone in need of an escort. With any luck it'd be a pretty woman, all alone for the night, and he could have some fun keeping her company. But the chances of that were slim to none. He knew a solo woman traveler was a rarity among rarities, and he wasn't lucky enough to find one of them. He was only unlucky. Like with that stupid vampire that was part of his reason for coming here to get off adrenaline instead of going to the black forest. A vampire stalker, and no scent of woman's perfume anywhere near. It was just a typical day in the life.
And just as typically, as he came across a stream, he could smell the scent of horse and man. And ever so faintly, something of goblin. With all the goblins in this god forsaken place, it was hard to tell if it was fresh or old, but it was better safe than sorry. With a deep breath, he jogged up the stream bank, relaxing into the familiar mindset of the hunt. In hardly anytime at all, he was to the point he could see who he had come across. A fairy, with blue wings, a cart, and a small pony of a horse pulling it. The fairy looked so breakable and very alone, but at least he had stayed by water, where the goblins wouldn't be able to properly surround him. “'Scuse me, traveler. Might I share your camp for the night?” he called out as he slowly approached. It was dangerous times in a dangerous world, and he was not about to let some fairy get the best of him with a lucky shot.

His eyes fell on a tall slim figure, the voice registered as male. Now why would there be a man out here with nothing other then the clothing on their back. These were troubled times in this land, people were less trust worthy then they once were, and the fact that this man didn't have anything to protect you in theses lands did not sit well with him. The fairy though put a smile on his face for the stranger. “I don't see why not.” Even if Teasel had a strange feeling about this man he was still polite. The small horse though began to act strange, it knew what Dion was, most animals knew when a predator was round. Teasel reached out to calm the animal be gently rubbing its nose. "sorry about him, he is usually more calm then this" even with the apology Teasel was a little off him self he didn't know why the pony acted like this maybe it was the new company or something else out of sight. He gripped the flute a little harder but the smile stayed on his face. "long way from home?" he asked to keep his mind off worrying and being a better host. Selling things at times was all about forming a reputation getting people on his side it did not pay well to be rude.
He stood up pocketing his little treasure to go for a bag on the side of his cart, food or drink. His parents did teach him well and he continued to use the hospitality they passed down for when he did meet someone. Friends for the fairy were few and far between. But just because he had no real friends did not mean he was mean, it just meant he never had the time since he was always moving, nothing kept him to a place. He figured the only time he would stop make a real home was when he was old and travelling became to hard.
The blue winged fairy sat back down his wings glistened in the setting sun, he set down two wrapped packages one for the stranger and one for him self. He hummed a little song, one strange to this land as he set down two cups and an unopened bottle of wine. “My name is Teasel Icebrance.” He offered up as an introduction, to rid of the feeling of being with someone you don't know.
