I know in our recent conversations you disapproved of me traveling to the Imperial City to see Callum, but I feel like I am capable of traveling there. Do not worry I am not traveling by myself, I have a trusted friend who has promised to get me to the Imperial City safe. Trust me, when he makes a promise I know he will keep it. I know you will probably be upset with me but please try to understand. I will send a letter when I arrive safely with Callum. Also know that Callum doesn’t know about this so please don’t be cross with him too. I love you both very much and I’m sure my next letter will reach you shortly. I will be sure to visit soon Your loving daughter, Fayleen
Fayleen had spent a few hours working on the letter and making sure it was just right. She didn’t want her parents to get worried if the letter was too short. They may jump to the conclusion she rushing to leave. And she didn’t want to make it too long and lengthy because what she was trying to say to her parents would get lost in all the words. Once she was sure she got the letter just right, she wrote it up neatly and left it for her parents where they would find it. She had packed her bags full of what she thought would be the most important. The ride wouldn’t be too horrible long, her brother had to make the ride when he came and visited the family. If he could do it then so could she. She had first thought about making the trip by herself. She could possibly steal some of her brother or dad’s old clothes so she wouldn’t attract any attention. She then thought about hiring someone to take her there, but she didn’t have a whole lot of money saved up and those types of things tended to be expensive. You could find a cheaper one but it was always a gamble of who you may end up with. Some of the times it was just a con to get people’s money. Then an opportunity presented itself to her. Joshua, her brother oldest and closest friend, was traveling through the Imperial City in a few days. Joshua was like another brother to her so it didn’t take much convincing for him to agree to her plan. All she had to tell him that if he wasn’t going to take her she would have to go by herself. He knew Fayleen well and knew that she was telling the truth. There was no use trying to convince her otherwise. She was stubborn, once she decided on something she was going to make sure that she saw it through.
Finally, after all the planning and packing and travelling she arrived at the Imperial City. Everything in the city seemed to gleam to her, it always had. She had traveled to the City once or twice before with her father for business. It seemed odd that she was now here by herself without her parents around. She parted ways with Joshua, he told her that he had a few things to do but he would visit her and Callum once it was all finished up. Fay gave a small laugh at the thought of who her brother would be more excited to see. Once she reached the castle it took them awhile to figure out that she was not an assassin but just a girl trying to see her brother. She didn’t blame them for their worry; they were just trying to protect their Queen. It was now times of war everyone had to be extra careful, especially the Queen. One of the guards led Fay to a large room and told her to wait there for her brother before she walked out. The room must be used for important meeting or maybe a party, it was much larger than any room she had seen. As she waited Fay wondered around the room a bit, taking in everything of the room. What it must be like to be royal and surrounded by these types of things all day. It certainly was a thought. Fay finally sat down in an ornate wooden chair when she realized the guard might take a while to find her brother.

BRINGING SOMETHING WE MUST LEARN, AND WE ARE LED TO THOSE WHO HELP US MOST TO GROW, IF WE LET THEM. AND WE HELP THEM IN RETURN. WELL I DON'T KNOW IF I BELIEVE THAT'S TRUE, BUT I KNOW I'M WHO I AM TODAY, BECAUSE I KNEW YOU.[/style] | [style=background-color: #e2e2e2; height: 320px; overflow: auto; width: 275px; float: right; padding: 10px; font-family: Tahoma; color: #494949; text-align: justify; font-size: 10px;]Big docile brown eyes peered out from a mop of dirty blonde hair. Callum absolutely hated riding through the night in the rain and it was the only part of his job he'd ever confess to stressing over. The land had to be traveled through my memory, he had to be on guard always and if he was ever going to get set on by rogues and thieves it would be then. For the most part the land around Imperial City was crime free but he'd traveled beyond that into Panthea's land. It was dangerous, yes, but he'd do just about anything for his Queen. Walking through his quarters he roughed up his hair enough to send droplets of water every which way possible. Tired, cold and wet through he wasn't in the best of moods and yet his face was a picture of unbridled happiness. He'd be visiting his family and his best friend in just a few days and have time to relax in his family home and catch up with his beloved Fay. Callum adored his little sister, he always had, and took it as a privilege to be her older brother. Pulling his shirt over his head he tossed it into the corner of the room where most of his dirty clothes lingered until he had no other option but to wash them. Even though he lived so close to royalty none of it had rubbed off on him. He was still the messy little irk he'd been back home. Grabbing at his towel he sat himself down to wipe off his face and dry his hair a little more his thoughts going over the long nights ride he'd just completed.
The fire exploded to life in the grate as he pulled the towel away and the twenty something stared at it longingly before getting up. His quarters were tiny compared to the others purely because he'd elected for them to be small. He was rarely ever there and if he was the only things he ever done were eat, sleep and occasionally entertain one of the many girls who worked at the castle. Far from settling down with just one he lived a life of a hard working, hard playing young man something his mother would've scolded him for but his father and best friend would cheer on. He left his boots in front of the fire and was halfway done to removing his socks when someone - a guard no less - walked in. Callum remained appreciative and polite throughout the guard's news but his demeanor changed from relaxed to worried as more information come out. His fifteen year old sister had taken the trip from their home to the castle. It wasn't that it was a long one because it wasn't it was that she'd seemingly done it alone. Callum knew better than to believe she'd done it alone not with the people they knew. Joshua wouldn't have allowed it and he, Callum, knew enough to know that Fay would've told him before she left. He'd have his guts for this; he'd appreciate Josh's concern for Cal's sister and her safety but have his inners all the same for not holding her back and sending word to him. He had no issue with her being there at all just that her safety could quite well have been jeopardized.
Stuffing his feet back into his boots he grabbed a clean - or semi clean since he didn't have time to sniff it - shirt and followed the guard out of his room not bothering to close the door after him. He kept up with the idle chitchat mainly about the trip, the weather, trivial things that Callum didn't give two hoots about before parting ways with him just outside the massive wooden doors blocking his view from his sister. He could've gone in there two guns blazing and yet he knew it would've gotten him nowhere fast with her so, instead, he slipped into the room to clock eyes on her sitting at the table. He would swear that she grew more between being here and when he went home. She looked older, taller, maturer than before but even so he still could only picture her as a short, innocent faced child she'd been not too long ago. Time was brutal at best. His tongue flicked over his lower lip before he spoke "Fay." [/style] |
