( TO ME YOU'LL BE FOREVER SACRED ) { you hand above, like a dove, over me } Nina was a girl. And girls loved shiny things. Well, she didn't really need them- she didn't want one either, she didn't like to look material, she liked simplicity, but she loved to look at them. And in the Magic Cavern, there was a tone of beautiful crystals, she had never been there, but she had heard about them. Some people would come in and take a few to put on their weapons, hoping to bring them talent and luck. Personally, she didn't believe in it, putting a gem on the hilt of a sword would make it pretty and more likely to be stolen, the only real way to become better was through practice.People talk about it, and she was curious, like so many others she was always morbidly curious about everything. She liked to knowledge, she liked learning, seeing things. And somethings it got her in trouble, other times she learned from it.
So, finding some free time after her practice, she found herself alone, with nothing to do. Seizing the opportunity to go and do something productive, she headed to the Magic Cavern. It wasn't that far off for her, and it was had to miss too, treads and trails of footsteps paved two roads, one to it, the one back. Leading right to the cave.Entering the carver, she looked around in awe. There were so many colors, so many sizes and shapes inside. No wonder people tended to take some and claim it for themselves.Though there was no light inside to reflect it, it seemed as if it it looked as if it was sparkling on is own.
Reaching out, she ran her fingers over one of them, a red one, protruding from the walls, the other hand holding on to the hilt of her sword. She couldn't it down, even in her home she refused to go weaponless anymore. Times like these, people had to be more careful, if only some people understood that and saw how important it is, though the elves are keeping to themselves and not being apart of the war- it didn't mean that the war wouldn't come pouring right on their doorsteps. While they are doing nothing our of the ordinary of what they usually would do. That bothered, it kind of make her do a double take on what she was doing in the crystal cave while she should be preparing herself. She was on break, right? What's the worse that can happen while she is gone? Surely nothing. She's not far from the Elven city, she could respond in an instant if there was trouble. There was nothing to worry about.
Hearing someone entered, she whirled around, as if she was getting caught for something she did wrong. While she was doing so, the crystal that she was admiring broke off with a snap, causing her to curse and put it behind her back. What made her react so? She didn't know, maybe it was because whoever it caught her unannounced, and she didn't notice their arrival. She hated to be caught off guard.

ONCE, AS MY HEART REMEMBERSALL THE STARS WERE FALLEN EMBERS. ONCE WHEN NIGHT SEEMED FOREVER- - - - - i was with you , Was it strange that he had to escape the noise of the city of the elves? It was never loud and rambunctious. No, it was nothing like the home of the fairy-kind. It was quiet and elegant in the city that he had grown up in. There were very few times that there was actually any kind of ruckus happening among the covered city. He supposed that none of them were really keen about a whole lot of sounds and such. But still, he often found things too loud in… what was it? The burden of responsibility possibly shouted louder than anything around his home. There was that constant reminder nagging at him right behind his ear that he needed to be something. He needed to be something that would please his parents, his cousins, his uncles and aunts, and grandparents. There were so many others watching him. Did they even notice? Perhaps not. Where would they find the time?
Oh, what was it that he was so concerned with? He blended right in with the rest of his people. The common crowd of them, at least. He was a hunter. He went out, came back with food to sell, and went home at the end of the day. It was nothing special.
His father was one of the many who blended with the crowds as well. He was a simple jeweler. Maybe well known outside of the city but inside there were others just as good as he with just as grand of access to beautiful jewels. The Magic Cave was not exactly kingdoms away form their home after all. There was plenty for him to work with. There were colors and sparkles that seemed exotic and outlandish in the other places that he traveled too. Here it was a common beauty, he supposed. Something that he was used to seeing as his father had spent many days and nights hunkered over his work, inspecting each of those colors and sparkles to make lovely jewelry.
There had been many days as a very young elf when Fallon had been sent off by his father with his sisters to find something pretty to bring home to him. If they did then he would make them something extravagant and wonderful. His sisters absolutely loved it. Both of the girls would find as many pretty stones and gems that they could and rush back to him jumping on their heels telling him all the things that they wanted him to make. Fallon was just sort of the tag along baby brother. He would find things they would snatch it away and admire it and beg him to keep it. He could have cared less. He still didn’t much of the time.
Today was one of the days that his father had given him a feeble request of venturing out to the cave. Again, he was busy over a table with glasses and little tools. Fallon couldn’t turn him down.
The young elf easily found his was to the cavern; eyes squinted against the changing light as he entered it. It was immediate that a strange sound hit his ears and his arms had snapped into the quick fluid action of taking the bow from his back and an arrow from its place. He had the quiver pulled back, his heart giving a few excited pounds as he looked into the light darkness where the sound had come from. He found himself looking down his aim at a rather guilty looking elfish girl.
Fallon wrinkled his nose and slowly lowered his aim. Then he felt a rush of heat starting around his cheeks. He had just pulled a weapon on someone who probably had no interest in fighting or doing anything bad. Just an adventurous elf. He loosened his grip, dropping his aim completely from her. He then turned his head away slightly, eyes still focused on her. “Afternoon,” was the only word he managed to speak. A simple, short greeting. Confused.

( TO ME YOU'LL BE FOREVER SACRED ) { you hand above, like a dove, over me } Nina, whirling around, heard the twang of an arrow being notched and the pull of the strings. Before she could think twice, her free hand reached for her dagger hidden in her left boot, the move allowed her to shift into a defensive position as her blue orbs sharpened and landed on the site of another elf, his weapon aimed right at her. They stayed as so until he lowered his arrow off from her form, she waited for a few more seconds until, with a twist of her wrist, snapped it back in its proper place on her worn boots. She merely looked at him, wondering why he seemed so flustered, it was only natural that they reacted so, these days, no one knows what will happen next, they can only be prepared. She tilted her head to the side, only slightly amused by the small blush that was apparent on his cheeks. His tone and words rang in her ears, and she blinked before emitting a slight blush at her own for staring. She looked down and inspected the shard in her hand, wondering if she should take it home or give it to someone, she has no use for it. It's a block of diamond- and if she couldn't make jewelry from it, it was pointless to have it; and she certainly didn't have time to take it somewhere to do so.
She looked back up after a moment, gathering a little pride before responding. 'Greetings,' she said with a slight bow, a habit she did when she encountered someone she didn't know, it could be a royal family member, and she would get in trouble for being rude. Most people didn't favor her because she was so young. Her lips twisted into a small smile at him, he seemed a little embarrassed, perhaps it would be best if she made the introduction first- she knew the feeling of being humiliated and not knowing what to say. Sparing him the moment, she piped up again. 'My name is Nina Abras... of Aherdaur,' she said with a small arrogant tilt of her chin, her tone hinted with pride, barely noticeable. When she grew up, she was just another face, just waiting to be forgotten, and now, she was one of the advisers to the Queen. She had gotten far with her life at a young age, and she was glad that was able to admit that she did it herself, not by using someone was a crutch.
Inspecting him closely since he was looking away, there was a small stroke of familiarity that brushed against her memory. Had she seen him somewhere before? She wasn't sure, she saw many people, and sometimes names tended to get mixed up in the crowd, but his eyes... it was impossible to forget them if she saw them- there were so intense, and his features were so dominate. Where had she seen him before? Had she even seen him before or was it her head wasn't as sharp as it was when she trained. She blinked and looked away quickly before he caught her, looking at the walls absently, still trying to recall a moment where she had seen him. It could be anywhere really, she had been traveling to see the Queen of Elves and Queen Pandora, so many towns, woods, lakes; she wouldn't even know where to narrow it down. Or was it that she was over thinking something so simple?

ONCE, AS MY HEART REMEMBERSALL THE STARS WERE FALLEN EMBERS. ONCE WHEN NIGHT SEEMED FOREVER- - - - - i was with you , His heart gave an irregular thud when her voice finally hit his ears. His blue eyes remained focused on her but now with much less discretion. The organ in his chest was back to normal beats and the heat that had risen up in his face began to fade away as comfort started to set in. She was an elf from the same place he was from. She was not a threat of any kind to him, he was sure. She was Nina Abras of Aherdaur.
That name. It struck him as something familiar. And now as he tilted his chin back in her direction and attempted to meet her stare he found that she had a familiar look to her as well. It was as though he had seen her before. He was sure for a fact that he had heard her name. Nina Abras, an advisor of the Queen. That was where he had known her name from. He had heard it in and out of the city. He had even heard his parents and older sisters speak of it whenever the news went on a sourer note regarding the darker things happening around them. Not that they had said horrible things about her. She just happened to be something bigger than they were in all of this. At least, he thought that she was compared to him.
Now it was his turn to break some of the tension.
“Fallon Genesis of Aherdaur,” he spoke to her clearly, giving her a bow back. He then looked back up at her. “I have heard of you before.” Now a clearer grin came across his lips. “Advisor of the Queen, am I correct?”
Now that Fallon took a minute to think this over he realized that he probably should still be quite embarrassed with himself. He was in the presence of someone who held much more importance than him. Not only that but he had dared to take aim at a person who was so much more important than he was. It left him wondering whether he should quickly bow his head as low as possible and give out hurried apologies or just continue on with being polite and forget what had happened. Maybe he should just follow her lead? After all, she did not seem to be upset with him over what had happened. Queen’s Advisor or not… she seemed to be pretty alright with everything.
His eyes wandered away from her own and were now concentrating on the chunk diamond she had in her grasp. He didn’t look at it for too long. In a moments time he had brought his gaze back up at he, his cheeks filling with some air as he thought of words to say.
Fallon had never been too amazing with conversation. When he needed to say things he could say them. He was good with anything that didn’t involve putting a bunch of emotion in it. But this small talk stuff was a weak spot. He could listen but talking back took effort and he probably made things awkward for both himself and the other person. She was probably wondering about him right now… or he was paranoid.
“Treasure hunting?” he questioned with a shy grin. Then he shrugged. “That’s why I’m here…”

( TO ME YOU'LL BE FOREVER SACRED ) { you hand above, like a dove, over me } Nina looked up at him when he spoke, rejoicing that he had done so. The tension between the times she said something to his response only thickened, and she felt uneasy. But his words confirmed that he was only an elf, meaning no harm and he was even from Aherdaur, which makes things even easier for her. She watched him bow to her, and she felt a little foolish, acting so formal in a cave outside of the castle. Many people insisted formality wasn’t needed unless in the court, it was a habit that she couldn’t seem to break, and she looked out of place doing so.
A small frown appeared as he questioned her occupation. Most people knew who she was, the young elf who wanted to go into war, and would gladly lead the army if she had to. Most of them thought of her as a fool, a child who didn’t know what the right path to take was. And she suddenly felt her heart skip a beat, unsure of what he had heard about her. Her friends told her many gossips about her, and thought most of them are untrue, some of them are. That selective few are from a negative point of view, they saw her beliefs as seeing the glass half empty when she wanted to show them as half full. It was frustrating, and she hoped he was the type that doesn’t believe anything he hears. However, since he asked the question with a smile, she guessed that he didn't seem to mind what she believed, and it made her return the grin he gave her. 'Why, yes you are, I'm one of many,' she murmured lightly, cocking her head to the side slightly.
She looked at the crystal in her hand for a moment, shaking her head. 'I was just curious. I came here to see what it looked like...' she trailed off with a slight nod. She twisted the gem around the palm of her hand before tossing it to him. He said he was treasure hunting after all. She had no use for it and she didn't want it. 'Do you come here often?' she asked him, her fingers running through her hair for a moment.
Training everyday and seeking solitude in the forest diminished whatever social abilities she had. When she wasn't arguing with someone, she really didn't say much, and she could tell that was hardly the type to just talk for the sake of hearing his voice. It was a good quality to have, but it's not good when there's nothing else to needs to be said. 'I'm mostly training or in the woods, so I've never been here before,' she informed him. It was a piece of information that he didn't know, but she hoped to get past small talk and carry to a conversation, maybe it might get easier after that.

ONCE, AS MY HEART REMEMBERSALL THE STARS WERE FALLEN EMBERS. ONCE WHEN NIGHT SEEMED FOREVER- - - - - i was with you , The sparkling diamond that the female elf had held in her hand was suddenly tossed over to him. In a quick motion he snatched the diamond up out of the air and into his own hand. Once he had a firm grip on it he raised it up to get a better look at it. A rough, white precious stone reflecting the colors of the others embedded in the walls around them. The closer he held it to his face the sharper every angle and shine became. The further was just the opposite. Everything would start to blur into one mess. It would start making no sense when it was held out further. He was surprised that he had managed to catch it with such precise ease.
“Oh no… well, I used to a few years ago.” He finally dropped his hand from in front of him, relaxing his eyes for a moment before narrowing them back on her. Her shape wasn’t steady and sharp. Her edges and finer points were fuzzy. But he was used to seeing people like that now. “My father is a jeweler so… he would have my sisters and I come down here from time to time. I’m actually here for him now…” Fallon gave a fake grin. “I have a better eye for the good stuff now.”
Perhaps he could tell between something good and bad if it was pressed against his face. But his eyes were only weaker with age.
Instead of just holding the diamond she had thrown over to him, Fallon went ahead and slipped it into the brown leather pouch he had strapped around his waist. It hung rather loosely though; bouncing against his thigh whenever he moved around. And there it would stay until he dumped its contents back at home on his father’s table where it would get a real inspection. It would get an inspection with cutting eyes and magnifying glasses and other trinkets. Would it make the cut? Perhaps it would end up on a necklace or a ring. Her stone could make it somewhere and she would never even know it. Would she even be interested in it? It was just a stone after all. Though some did risk their lives and kill for those sorts of things. Everyone loved treasures, didn’t they?
He suddenly gave her a curious look. “In the woods often?” he looked away toward the entrance of the cave. “Funny I have never really seen you…” his voice trailed. “I am often out in the woods myself. I’m a hunter.” He turned his head back toward her, a bashful smile on his face. “What’s your favorite color?”
As he asked the question he turned on his toes and walked over the floor of the cave without even forethought of where his feet would land. He had walked through here so many times he could do it with his eyes closed. It was second nature to him to walk in this slight darkness, only with the sparkling lights of the stones around him to lead the way.
His fingers ran briskly over one wall, barely touching the treasures that poked from the cave. They ran over blue ones, red ones, white and black. He didn’t even look at them. His eyes were instead facing downward, lashes covering them so much it seemed like he had closed them up completely. It was just a walk through memories. What colorful memories these ones were.

( TO ME YOU'LL BE FOREVER SACRED ) { you hand above, like a dove, over me } Nina tilted her head to the side, curious as to what he doing, there were plenty out near the entrance, why was he going i further when it clearly wasn't needed? She wanted to know- like many, she was always eager for knowledge, be it little things to important things. Knowledge is power, and the more she had, the easier it is to feel at ease when making a decision that was going to affect so many people around her. And watching as he gave her a smile and walked off, further into the cave, she felt inclined to follow- to see what was on his mind. Besides- he asked her a question, she never gave him a reply.
Light footsteps following the hunter, she smiled to herself slightly, looking around her in awe. It was so pretty, how come she had never been here before. But there was something dangerous about it- so many gems that are almost priceless, people kill for wealth, and to her, some of these gems that clung to wall, no doubt blood would follow wherever it goes. Maybe it could eventually become cursed. A thought that she won't carry around her neck or wrist.
'Hunter?' she asked, looking at him with a frown. That's right- why haven't they met before? 'The woods are quite big- I guess I'm not surprised,' she admitted sheepishly. 'Have you considered being in the army- we could use a few people who knows the woods, seeing that you are a hunter,' she said- it was an idea, she wasn't going to shove it down his throat, and it could be something to look into. But after the words left her lips she let it drop- instead moving to the next question.
'And as for my favorite color- I like red,' she answered him with a smile. Red was an interesting color for her- it could stand for love, pain, or even blood, but that isn't why she liked the color- she favored it because it was pretty, vivid. 'What about you?' Her hand moved to the hilt of her weapon as she walked, a habit she did when she was in an unfamiliar place- who knows what would lurk around here. A cave is a cave, and animals do tend to wander in the most unlikely of places.

ONCE, AS MY HEART REMEMBERSALL THE STARS WERE FALLEN EMBERS. ONCE WHEN NIGHT SEEMED FOREVER- - - - - i was with you , The elf scrunched his nose when she asked whether he had ever considered being apart of the army or not. It was true that he did know these woods and could probably adapt to any that you tossed him in- he was shaped all his life to do what he was doing now- but to join in the ranks of an army? Fallon was not so sure if he would manage to fit in with that sort of crowd. He was never the best with handling others and worked better on his own (not that he tried a whole lot of teamwork). Besides, the thought of being trained to fight off other beings clearly as intelligent or even more intelligent than himself sent chills down his spine and dizzied his stomach. It would be a frightening job wouldn’t it? And one that you would be bound too. Of course, there could also be a bright side when he put his own fears at bay. For example, he could take place in heroic acts and be loved by his people and the elves he was fighting for. He could be considered brave. Possibly more important than what he was doing now, at least. He wasn’t really completely sure about any of it.
What did he know for sure? That right now joining in on something like that would probably be frightful. There was war brewing all around the elves as it was.
He was grateful that she didn’t keep on going with it. Part of him had sort of expected an entire spill on what was going on with the war when she had mentioned that. But she had let it go, only presenting him with the idea and, honestly, he would probably think about it with less negativity because of the way she had mentioned it to him. She seemed surprisingly nice, now that he thought about it and who she was. How pleasant and lucky for him?
He didn’t look back at her but went ahead and pressed on a nervous, little grin. “Oh- well… I’ve never really considered that. I mean, there are plenty of others who know a lot more than I about… just about everything.”
Fallon was not trying to be modest with his words. He only spoke what he had been told. Seventeen was a tender, young age for elves unlike humans and such. Compared to many he was still considered just a baby. In other words, he still wasn’t perceived as someone who could make a huge difference for anyone or anything. He was supposed to fulfill his tasks that he was given and the responsibilities he had chosen without causing a ruckus and without making any irrational choices. He was still a follower; not a leader, not a hero.
Red? Hmm, he could surely see this one picking red. Regarding her status, at least this may have been a biased answer. If she had gotten where she was then she must have been strong at heart and passionate to reach her goals, right? So red was a fine color to pick for someone who had such a strongly driven heart. It could also stand for passion. But passion, too, was a strong word.
“Green,” he replied to her simply. “It’s calm and very neutral, I think. Like the forest.” He looked back her, offering her a more comfortable grin now. Then he came to a halt. The cave before him was darkening and the temperature was growing warmer. “There’s a lot more if you keep going,” he said matter-of-factly. “But it gets really… really hot.” A bit of fake laughter dribbled out of his throat. “Uncomfortably so.”
