Nalean searched the shelf where she kept her herbal remedies with a small frown of concerntration. She was looking through her stores, ensuring that nothing was lacking as she preferred to not run out of any remedies at an inappropriate time. Some questioned her as a healer as she kept remedies, but she firmly believed in not using her healing powers for minor injuries and ailments. She also rarely fully healed broken arms and legs if they had been earned through foolishness, sometimes forcing some one to rest for a week or two was an effective lesson on the consequences of foolish and dangerous behaviour. She let out a frustrated sigh when she saw that a number of her remedies were running low and were in desperate need of replacing.
She grabbed a small knife for cutting different herbs, a few jars for the herbs and a leather satchel to carry everything in. She smiled as she walked through the elvish city in the direction of the forest. She stopped to speak to a group of fellow healers who were debating the use of Dragon's breath, a rare herb that had the ability to quicken the rate of tissue repair on open wounds. She half-heartedly joined in the debate before excusing herself and proceeding to the forest. She walked slowly, searching for the various plants she needed in order to make her remedies and ensured that she stuck to the path where possible.
After a few minutes of searching she found one of the herbs she needed and walked through the green undergrowth to reach the herb. She knelt next to the plant a cut off a number of small branches and placed them in one of the jars. She then placed the bag in the satchel and caried on to the next plant. She continued this until she had found all the plants that she needed.
Nalean then walked over to a nearby log and sat down, taking in the scenery. She loved exploring the forest but sometimes she was too busy to do it as many of the elvish children had recently taken to seeing who could injure themselves the most. She smiled shaking her head thinking that this might be a perfect opportunity to explore the forest and see if anything had changed since the last time she had explored this part of the forest. She was just about to stand up when she heard a twig break behind. She turned around and frowned slightly when she saw that there was no one behind her. She shook her head, deciding that it must have been some or other small creature.

ONCE, AS MY HEART REMEMBERSALL THE STARS WERE FALLEN EMBERS. ONCE WHEN NIGHT SEEMED FOREVER- - - - - i was with you , Small flecks of light were the only things that managed to catch sight of him in the density of the forest. Cool trees, standing tall and healthy from the ground made sure to keep a good deal of the sunlight out of his face. All the sounds seemed somewhat dulled and faded this morning. The air was crisp, surging through his nostrils with less silence than the steps of his light feet. He hardly made a sound in this friendly darkness. Completely unafraid of what was around him but always aware, his feet like a deer; firm on the ground but could easily bound into action when the occasion called for it. Clouded blue eyes glanced around slowly, squinting against their own weakness. He had never been gifted with sight and it seemed that this disability was worsening as time went. This was a secret that he would never tell.
Sometimes he would walk through the familiar parts of the forest with his eyes pressed closed forcing himself to use his other senses to guide him through. It was no simple task and he often found himself peeking through his eyelids. It made doubt stir in his stomach when he did that. He would never be able to do anything without his eyes. So he would simply pray to the gods that they would let him keep his eyes. He would be nothing without them.
On this day he kept his eyes open. They were opened and sucked in all of the beauty of nature that they possibly could. They admired the greens, the browns, and the specks of color from fanciful little plants sprouting up from the ground. There was even some ground covering on small lumps that made some wonderful shades of purples and greens. The dampness of the forest kept everything so alive.
The elf tilted his head back, exposing the thin underside of his throat and jaw, the jewelry in his ear making a light tapping sound as he did so but nothing more.
It seemed so empty for the moment. But he could feel the presence of another. He could breathe in the air and feel that he wasn’t alone. Something was using up this fresh oxygen with him. He closed his eyes, concentrating. Or perhaps he was just imagining things. Imagining that he was something greater than he really was; a great, well known hunter or hero maybe! Yes, something silly like that. It was something childish. Was he too old to be considered a child? Maybe to the humankind. Their short lifespan turned them into men much quicker than his kind apparently.
He was smarter than some human man though. He was. He was sure.
A click. He bounced back, jaw snapping down so his eyes could look toward the ground. The culprit was spotted quickly. A broken twig now lay in the path that he had been walking through. Instinctively he started to crouch, bending his knees while his eyes started flashing around. His hand set itself wearily over the small blade at his side in case something was close by.
There was nobody. Nobody too close at least. His eyes had found someone but they were busy not looking for him now. They had looked around but apparently gave him no further interest and had went back to whatever it was they were doing.
She was an elf like he. She was out going along her own business, probably exploring like he was. He wondered if she was paranoid now. Maybe she was frightened that some dark creature was stalking her through her wooded surroundings. He would have to fix that and make it not so unless he wanted to carry a tiny amount of guilt with him around for the remainder of the day.
He took a few quick steps forward, purposely making them louder than usual so that she would hear him clearly coming. He didn’t barge up next to her though. Instead he stayed a good distance behind, eyebrows raised with some confusion but his hands away from any weapon to show that he had no interest in harming her.
“I apologize if I frightened you,” he told her in a low, clear voice. “I was not watching my feet, I suppose.” He offered her a smile bowing his chin forward. “Fallon. Fallon of Aherdaur.”

So let me go my own way OPPOSITE FROM YOU - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nalean stood up deciding that while she was in the forest, she may as well do what she had set out to do before getting scared by a twig. She shook her head, irritated with herself for jumping at something so trivial. She was certain that it must have been some or other small animal that inhabited the forest. The light shone in patches through the leaves overhead and in some places left patterns on the forest floor. Her hand brushed against her knife unconsciously, she was still a bit jumpy even if she would not admit it.
From what she could see, there was still no one near her. Nalean would probably get frustrated with herself if she realized how wrong she was. She was aware of the fact that there were hunters in the forest, but she had forgotten how silent they could be. It had been a long time since she had joined her brother, but since becoming a Healer she had rarely if ever joined her brother in the forest. She knew that there were dark and dangerous creatures in the forest but she had always thought that they would never dare coming this close to the elvish city.
She stopped when she heard footsteps behind her, thinking that maybe her theory was wrong. She turned around and realized as she turned that the footsteps sounded like those made by an elf. She met the male elf’s confused expression with a sheepish one. She should have realized that a hunter may have been close-by but she had as usual been too absorbed in her own little world. She noted that he kept his hands away from his weapons, so he was possibly the one who had caused her to jump and wanted to show her that he wasn’t a threat.
She couldn’t help but smile at this gesture, he obviously realized that he had unintentionally given her a fright and wanted to show her that he was no threat to her. “it’s fine, I think I frightened myself more” she said still smiling, keeping her voice cheerful. “Nalean Silverstar” she said when Fallon gave her his name. “I suppose you are a hunter then?” she asked, already suspecting that he was a hunter. She just wanted to make sure before she jumped to conclusions about his reason for being in the forest. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

ONCE, AS MY HEART REMEMBERSALL THE STARS WERE FALLEN EMBERS. ONCE WHEN NIGHT SEEMED FOREVER- - - - - i was with you , The blond female had a smile on her face when she looked over toward him. This was something that took him by surprise considering he had just managed to give her a little fright. But he quickly forced that thought away knowing that dwelling over such silly thoughts was just that: silly.
It brightened up his mood when she continued to display her good mood. The smile remained on her face and she was not making any conversation difficult or awkward for him. He still found his throat tight from when he had stumbled upon her early and had felt that pang of slight embarrassment though. Other than that he managed to keep a soft grin on his lips as well, trying his best to keep just a pleasant look and attitude as she seemed to exhibit. Good feelings could be contagious. He just needed to smile back.
“Indeed, I am,” he told her with a sure nod of his head. He quirked his brow up at her now as he dared to take a few steps in her direction, feeling more comfortable with himself now. His arms stayed at his sides though just in case she possibly felt uncomfortable with him getting too close. “What gave me away?” he asked her leisurely with another smile. “Are you associated with a hunter, perhaps? Or is it intuition that led you to that thought?”
He went ahead and let his mindless curiosities carry out in their small talk; the smile Hon his face remaining small and his stare lightly gazing in her direction awaiting a reply. As he asked his own little questions he went ahead and dove through his mind of all the things that she could possibly be. For all he knew she could have just been out looking around and this had nothing to do with her line of expertise. Or, on the other hand, this had everything to do with her workings. What were his choices? There were hunters like him. It would explain why she caught onto him being one so quickly, he supposed. But he wasn’t so sure if he could see her in that hunter role. She would have been more careful, wouldn’t have she? A gather could have been another option: someone who took other things rather than animals from the forest. Picking things like fruits, roots, and the likes.
On second thought he could always ask her what her line of profession happened to be.
“And what about yourself, Nalean Silverstar?” he asked softly. “What are you doing out here?”

So let me go my own way OPPOSITE FROM YOU - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Nalean’s eyes sparkled with amusement at the look of surprise that the other elf had. She knew that her habit of taking everything as it came surprised other’s, but she did have a short temper when put under the right type or strain. Although she had learnt to control her temper and would often show a person her opinion of them by simply glaring coldly at them, she still had her little moments of flying off the handle. The difference was, she knew now how to control her temper and reserved her moments for those who really deserved it. Nalean was not about to get angry with someone for accidently giving her a fright, it was a waste of time and simply put there was much worse things that could have happened to her.
Nalean held back a laugh at Fallon’s words. She knew that it had been lucky of her to guess that he was a hunter. She watched him move closer with a look of amusement on her face. She had always found the behaviour of hunters amusing and fascinating at the same time, they all had their own little quirks when hunting and most seemed to act slightly uncomfortable at times when coming across others. She shrugged at his question, “Possibly your clothing matches that of hunters” she said with a cheeky gleam in her eyes. “It could be both” she said, still keeping an amused smile on her face. “My older brother is a hunter, although he prefers the company of the trees and himself to other hunters when hunting, so he tends to hunt alone” she said in a matter of fact tone.
Nalean wondered if Fallon was wondering if she was a hunter. After all it was mainly the hunters who came this deep into the forest, not the healers. “Oh me?” she asked innocently. “I’m just collecting some herbs for remedies as I’m a healer” she said nodding to the bag that still lay next to the log where had been sitting, that had been rather careless of her to leave her herbs lying there alone. “I know most healers prefer to get their herbs from the gatherers, but I prefer getting my own herbs. Gives me a chance to get to the forest every now and again” she said, knowing that he would be curious about the reasons behind a healer being this far out in the forest. She had always loved the forest growing up and had considered becoming a hunter, but her tracking skills had let her down and she had realised that if she became a hunter she might have been one of the worst in elvish history.
