Ellethwen always loved walking around the city. The Imperial City reminded her of home. Children playing, much like fairies with their games and parties. There was life everywhere, every street corner, every alley way. It was a forest of stone, living and moving, teeming with life. So beautiful and clean, even if it was in a way she thought was a bit sterile. No moss or vines climbing on the building, no wild plants. Sure, she understood homes of stone could be destroyed if they let the plants take control, but seeing a city just didn't seem the same when it wasn't all greens and browns. Still, it never ceased to amaze her just how pretty the city was, even without the trees, and mossy logs, and insects burrowing through the underbrush. Mortals certainly had a way with bringing out the beauty in things not natural made.
Carefully adjusting her headband, he looked into a nice little shop. Jewelry. She needed something new, something bright, and green. Green stones, those would be pretty, she thought as she stepped in. Something with silver, and green stones, looking like vines. That was what she looked for, browsing among all the shimmering things. So much variety, stars and flowers, geometric patterns. The many different designs were breathtaking, beautiful. “Amazing.” she murmured, a finger trailing along a thin chain supporting a pendant in the shape of a bird. It wasn't her style, but it was very nice. The wings were off, though, her brow wrinkled as she looked closer. They tried to make it look like the bird - a falcon perhaps? - was flying, but the wings they looked like a blue jay. With a sigh, she withdrew her fingers. Humans never seemed to make images of live things quite right. They always blended them, never quite seeing them as separate. It wasn't like elves. Master craftsmen spent years and years studying nature, so much they could create an image in metal that looked as though it could really fly. But she was here pretending to be a mortal girl. A mortal girl, even a lady, wouldn't be able to afford all the fine elven crafted things she had back at home, namely because she had a hundred years worth of baubles she had collected, and as a princess many of them were nearly as fine as those Pandora wore. Now, though, she just continued browsing, constantly distracted by all the different things.
