STRENGTHS .
Get good or die: Tarsus grew up in The Pit; a gladiator ring located in the far eastern city of Mullazar. From the time he was ten he was expected to be willing to kill; to take the life of another to ensure his own survival. The Half-Elf learned quickly, his mind seeming to have a natural affinity for the arts of combat. When it came to the sword he was said to be unstoppable. It wasn't that he struck with strength, it was in the way he moved. Agile and quick, every strike was thrown with precision and forethought. When he fights it isn't a brawl in his mind, it is a coldly-calculated plan that must be followed through with in order for him to survive. In order for him to live on more day to repeat the same thing.
Come out come out wherever you are: After being set free from his life in chains, Tarsus began work as a Ranger. It was here that his Elven heritage truly began to shine. The man was known for his ability to pick-up any trail and follow it. The terrain hardly mattered, the weather never a factor. Within his mind it seemed to make perfect sense, his ability to pick up a cold scent was something that nearly became legendary among the other Rangers.
You may not see it, but I'm only Human: Although some would have seen it as a weakness the Guardian Council did not; they saw the darkness within Tarsus as a strength that could be used. Unlike Paladins, Tarsus is capable of selfish and cold acts, murder and rage are things he has known in his life. He isn't perfect, but it is his imperfection that makes him perfect to fill the roll of the Guardian of Light. The one to protect Pandora and the powerful staff she carries. The darkness within him a powerful weapon to be harnessed against those that wish to harm the Queen. He can kill without mercy or question, he can act upon impulse and eradicate any threat he feels. A black heart with a pure soul.
You better watch that silver tongue of mine: Bitter, sarcastic and mildly mean. Things most wouldn't consider a strength, but it is the mask he wears to hide the turmoil that rages within. It is rare for someone to take the words out of his mouth, and even more rare that he doesn't have something snappy or hurtful to bite back with at a moments notice.
WEAKNESSES .
Sometimes you can't help but hate the Man in the Mirror: Tarsus has a deep-seated and vicious hatred for himself. Long ago he had fallen in love with a Water Nymph by the name of Rhona. She had saved him from his attempt to take his own life, seeing inside him a soul that needed help. However, as time passed she began to see the darkness within him, and fearing he would fall to the evil, left him before she saw such things come to pass. Tarsus had blamed himself for the one person that had truly loved him leaving, a fact that turned into complete and utter self-hatred.
Help me remember how to smile: Depression. Plain and simple. Tarsus struggles with it every moment of everyday. He loathes himself, everything about his entire creation brings thoughts of malice to his mind. The only reason he hasn't taken his own life is that worth has been given to it by The Council, a mission that gives him something to live for. Pandora.
If I die tonight know it was okay by me: Tarsus attaches no personal value to his own life. In someways this is a strength, when it comes to fighting he has no problem going all in and seeing what happens. However, it has also led to moments of foolish acts simply because he doesn't care what happens. The act that brought Rhona into his life was a moment when the Half-Elf wondered if the moment before he died he would feel true happiness, if he could feel bliss. Chasing the answer he'd closed his eyes and stepped off a waterfall, not caring what happened, only wishing to feel a heartbeat of something real, something that made all the pain worth it.
Don't blame me for being broken: From the very beginning Tarsus was destined to be damaged. His Father had been a cruel and horrible man, a slaver. He'd taken Tarsus's mother, raped her repeatedly, and upon learning she was pregnant had thrown her into a brothel. The place had been a terrible one for Tarsus to grow up, the sight of his mother being beaten and abused my men an all too familiar sight. He grew up detached, his mind simply not learning what to do when it felt emotion, what to do when it felt something from the heart. And for that reason he simply stopped feeling. It wasn't within his control, merely his mind deciding things would be simpler that way. That maybe life would be almost bearable if he couldn't feel anything at all.
