It had been nearly a year since Laraella last set foot inside the Imperial City. It wasn't that she didn't like the city, as she found it to be truly stunning and wonderful to be in. She was simply too busy with her travels to ever make time to visit the great City of Light. She rode on Meko, her great white stallion with her image shielded from the world by her helmet and armor. But this visit to the city was not one of pleasure or leisure. She was here for one reason and one reason only - to find the old sorcerer that she had been looking for the last six months since her husband was slain.
She made her way through the city, nodding to a few guards that let her pass through without any questions asked. Clearly, they knew who she was. Soon enough, she reached her destination. The Troll's Hall. Quickly, Lara slid down from her horse and tugged her helmet off, her long, brown locks falling out and cascading down her back. She never did wear it up, a bit of a habit since she was a young girl. Leaving her helmet with her horse, Lara made her way into the tavern. The stench of alcohol burned her nostrils but she would have to put up with it if she wanted the information that she needed. Wrinkling her nose up a bit, the paladin walked up to the bar, folding her gauntlet covered arms in front of her. "Feldo!" She spoke loudly to draw the attention of the portly bartender. The man turned around and a smile instantly jumped on his face.
"LARA! By the Gods! It's been too long!" He exclaimed, placing his hands on top of hers as he spoke. The two had known each other for nearly ten years now and he was surely a person that Lara concidered to be a friend. "It has been. But sadly, I'm not here to make up for lost time," she began, her smile fading from her face. "Have you seen Gellantor lately?" She questioned quickly, deeply hoping that her dear friend new the location of the elderly sorcerer that she so desperately needed to find. The Grimoire Codex needed to find its proper owner but that couldn't happen until Lara fround Gellantor. Feldo looked perplexed for a moment before his eyes widened. "The elderly chap? I can't say I've seen him recently...Must've been eight months ago, Lara." He replied.
Lara's heart sank and it was obvious on her face as a frown formed. "Oh..." she replied simply, allowing herself to drop down on the barstool with a sigh. "Well, I suppose I'll stay for lunch then," she spoke again, doing her best to cheer herself up and pull a smile. Feldo smiled weakly and quickly went back into the kitchen to get her meal prepared while Lara observed the drunkards that filled the tavern.

Nataz stood in the back of the tavern, in the shadows. She loved disguising herself as human and walking among the earthly beings unquestioned. It gave her a chance to get to know them some. You know, talk without the other person quaking in their boots because you're a high and mighty goddess? Yeah, that's what she liked. She liked to stand in the back and watch them, maybe talk to a few of the less drunk ones.
So, of course, Nataz saw the half- elf come in. It was obvious she was looking for some one, or something, and equally obvious by the way her shoulders slumped and the spirit left her that she had no lead. Nataz wondered what it was she was looking for, and debated with herself whether or not to go talk to the young half-elf. She sipped her drink, watching the girl over the rim of the cup. She seemed alone, seemed dejected too. Nataz decided it might be fun to talk to this one.
Nataz slid up to the bar and ordered more on her drink. She then looked over at the girl sitting next to her. Her long brown hair fell over her shoulders, hiding her face from view. She seemed different from most, proud and strong. She seemed trustworthy, a quality most people here didn't possess.
"You look as if you're looking for something. Would you like some help?"

It was certainly depressing for the young Paladin to find that the one person she needed to find hadn't been seen by anyone she knew for many months. She desperately needed to find the old sorcerer. The fate of the world truly did depend on it. She was not the Chosen protector of the book that she carried. Instead, she was the temporary one and it would stay that way until she could find Gellantor and track down the proper protector. But she was not one to let things keep her down for a long time. It had only been six months since her husband had been slain and the book had been passed to her by him, with his dying words telling her to find the old man. She would not betray the promise that she made to him, even if she had to go through hell and back to complete it.
As she waited for Feldo to bring her lunch, she brushed a strand of her long, wavy hair from her face as a young woman found her way next to her at the bar. Lara flashed her a quick smile, not expecting the woman to strike up a conversation with her a moment later. Help...Lara was never one to turn help down and as an oath, couldn't lie. "I can use all the help I can get at this point," she began, letting out a soft sigh after her words fell from her lips. She hadn't a clue that she was speaking to a Goddess, as the only divine being that she had ever witnessed in human form was Tempus himself. "You wouldn't happen to know a man by the name of Gellantor, would you?" She questioned curiously, hoping that the woman would prove to be some help to her. And if not, hopefully she could provide the name of someone that could help her out in her quest.

I'M ABOUT TO LOSE MY MINDYOU'VE BEEN GONE FOR SO LONG I'M RUNNING OUT OF TIME."Gellantor...hmm, I may or may not know him. But with as many faces as I see, I might just not remember him. Maybe if you told me about him a little to jog my memory? And maybe a little about yourself, I don't help just everyone, though you look like the sort I would help. Never can be too careful, though." A crooked smile fell across Nataz's face. Of course, she was telling the truth there, she really didn't know the man off the top of her head, but the inkling of recognizition was still there in the back of her head. Of course, this was also so that the need Nataz had for something new could be satisfied. You see, spending year after year with the immortal gods got old. They all did the same thing, century after century. It got old quickly. Nataz was starved for change. Maybe it was the way she was connected to the ever changing moon that arose that need for change in her. Or maybe the moon was always changing because of that need for change that she felt. Either way, Nataz needed change, and that wasn't something she would get with the gods. So she looked to the earthly beings.
And change they did. Everyday was different. Everyday was an adventure, every day more exciting and challenging then the one before. Everyday was new, fresh and clear. And secretely, Nataz envied them.
There was one thing that the earthly beings had that no one else ever did that Nataz so greatly yearned for. Forgiveness, renewal. The chance to start over with the new day. For the day past to be forgotten, to be just that, the past. Nataz yearned for that with everything she had. That little chance to be forgiven for what she had done, to be forgiven by the vampires for what she had done to them. For people to forget that she was the one who had done that to them. For the chance to go back to how things were before then, to the innocence that she had before then. That was one thing she would never get back that she so greatly yearned for. Nataz wanted to be able to move on as the earthly beings did. But no one ever forgot what a goddess did.
